Man. Tough crowd. I post 1 pic of Vodka/Cointreau/cranberry cocktail and all of a sudden I need drinks with umbrellas.... :smileylaughing:.
I just did my browse on a few of my favorite Rye Whiskey review sites and have my 4 bottles picked out to bring back. All 4 are straight cask bottled. :)
Look forward to the re stock at the Ponderosa.
^ That's just the way it works mate... remember Jock McTavish the dry stone wall builder. He built miles of dry stone walls but of course couldn't resist shagging just that one sheep.
Guess what his nick-name is?
Anyway, we flew over to Blighty on Monday and the last couple of days both meself and the daughter have gone down with a really nasty bug. I feel like absolute shite, have a splitting headache, keep going a bit light-headed, complete wiped out and I have a kind of really painful stitch down my left side. The daughter seems to be worse and has a temperature as well. I didn't really feel like the drive down to the south coast today but with the accommodation at 200 quid a night (above a pub!) it had to be done. As soon as we arrived the daughter went straight to bed and I thought about doing the same but, even though the last thing I wanted was a drink, I'm on me hols. So I went downstairs to investigate.
There's three kinds of cider. Clear...

And a very dry scrumpy. I didn't try the scrumpy as I didn't want to get rat-arsed and give a bad example to the daughter. But I will tomorrow.
I’d be necking whiskeys instead if you feel a bit croock
A proper pint at a proper price: 2 pounds 30!

The rather lovely Sepecat Jaguar was in service with the RAF in the close air support role for over 3 decades, only being retired when the Typhoon came into service in 2007
That's a full body right there Looper, lovely jet as well!

Senorita brought a huge bag of mushrooms which I have not thought of buying in years. I like how she stretches my food boundaries. I chopped them on top of a chicken pizza with extra cheese. Classic movie food.

Today's food drop also included 2 boxes of very rich chocolate cake which paired nicely with some salted caramel ice cream. She is watching her figure so I was forced to tackle this bad boy solo.

Twas a gin day.
I started with a passion fruit infused gin.
Attachment 104595
Then switched to a burnt cinnamon and pepper gin.
Attachment 104596
Finished with a rather joyous coloured blueberry infused gin.

Looking good Looper, enjoy the night and make sure you lick up all that 'chocolate cake' ;)
Let me know how the film was, I have been threatening to download it.
I'm off the cider because I think it's just too calorific and not consistent with trying to lose a bit of weight.
While I was down in Dorset I tried a couple of pints of this Italian stuff that Reg Dingle and Joe 90 seem to rave about... and I ended up acquiring a glass. Today I thought I'd get some beer to go with my new glass but fukked up... Motetti...? Peroni...? it's all the same to me.

Meanwhile a sister with her daughter decided to stay the night... I had three generations of females of the family all talking unfettered bollocks so I retreated to the kitchen and followed the Poloni with...

Which was very nice, and then...

The wife and gardener tend to talk unfettered bollocks at home, but I find it easier when I don't understand anything.
I'm starting to miss sitting with Yogi et al in the evenings. It's not easy to escape at my mum's house.
I finished up with another Poroni, along with some cider cheese, crackers and Sticky Apple and Scrumpy Cider Chutney.

The bladdy chutney was full of sultanas, but still OK I guess.

Sounds like your having a great day and to top it off, a bhuna! I bet your ma is loving having her grand daughter in town!
^ ^I got Joe on the Moretti a couple of years ago when we went out for a pint. The fucker turned up and wanted to buy me a Carling until he saw the look of disgust on my face. Bloody City fans. :)
Anyway, today's selection is a few ales followed by a couple of lighter lagers (including a Moretti) to finish the night off.

I was gonna ask for Nammers' input on the ale selection but am gonna instead say that Bishops Finger most definitely does not make the transition from a great pint in the pub to a bottle in a supermarket. So much so that I'm gonna have to steal one or two of the girly ciders from my missus as I'm gonna leave the other one for a(nother) rainy day.
