Got on it again at lunch time, roughest flight home, looking forward to my own bed. Mrs texts me when I'm in the taxi home 'Go to the bar, I'll pick you up there.'

Straight to the bar and it's heaving cos of the bank holiday next day. One dickhead pulls out a bag of mushrooms he bought off his daughter. Ahhhhh Yes. Replenish the pool bar fridge day. A variety to cover the taste buds. More in the drawer and door. All chilling now.

Oettinger is pretty good. It's also the lowest cost option at NZ$2.29 for a 500ml can. My understanding is that Oettinger doesn't advertise a lot, but gets their sales through low pricing. According to Wiki it was the top selling beer in Deutschland between 2004-2013.

    555. I quite like Oettinger. Nice taste. Cloudy wheat beer. Is perfect at the end of day. Same with Franzishaner and Erdinger.

I typically like a BeerLao Lager when out doing yard work and it's hot. Quite refreshing as is BeerLao Dark. Hoegaarden is an all around Beer. Does well with dinner and BBQing. Leffe and Duvel are my pool side beers with some snacks.

^I did not know the GC suburb of Arundel was named after a Sussex town. You learn something new every time you come on the DOORS. It is a veritable font of knowledge.

I have just discovered, as I draw perilously close to the end of the bottle, that BWS and Liquorland have both simultaneously discontinued Licor Cuarenta-y-Tres which forces me to drive 8 km further to Dano's for my next resupply.

Tragic news, so to cheer myself up I got a new addition to the carrier fleet.

Meet the MH-53 SeaDragon. The navy's mine-sweeping variant of the CH-53 SuperStallion

    What are you drinking today?-img_20221017_230038-jpg

The latest iteration of the CH-53 is the CH-53K KingStallion which is the most expensive helicopter in history by a long margin.

The previous record holder was the VH-22 Osprey on the right at $72M a pop.

The KingStallion weighs in at an eye-watering $122M

More expensive than any variant of the F-35 and the marines are getting 200 of them

If you thought those diagonal protruding probes at the front were wing mirrors you are absolutely correct. That is exactly what they are. The crew needs to keep eyeballs on the towed minesweeping rig.

Popped in for a beer, or at the very least a glass of chardonnay and a foot rub.

Now I'm thinking of putting a flower in me hair, and going to a music festival to protest the military-industrial complex.

Having just thrown out half a plate of reheated 2 day old KFC with a side of MSG laden Japanese curry gloop, I certainly would.

I don't know how anybody can be angry at Edward Cheddar. It must have been the Merlot talking. A couple of bottles of that before bed-time can upset the mental balance of even the nicest of nuclear sub builders.

You called for my attention recently. I am giving it to you.

Anyway, I'm glad to see you've calmed down a bit from last night. Have you got some nuclear subs to build today?

Or maybe do a bit of extra work at the Heysham nuclear power station after your breakfast? Is that place still running?
