I agree. It is just Vodka. I would drink Hangar 1 Vodka here if I could get it but Stoli has always been consistent and tastes nice.

    Yeah and Smirnoff doesn't.

Lived overseas for 35 years so no idea about drinking trends in the UK.

    I just have taste buds.

Nipped out from work yesterday afternoon for some sahlab.

    What are you drinking today?-sahlab-jpg

This stuff has been helping to make these cold days just a little bit more bearable.

^ If those are big bottles that's about half the price of Thailand!

Unfortunately only 330ml. They are a 5% beer but
You can neck them rascals in 1 gulp. Most Aussie store bought beer seems to be 4% in a 330 ml can or bottle or less for the same price. Here there all about giving you less and you pay more. Don't even think about just buying a 6 pack coz you think you wanna drink 6
Then the price goes nuts. They encourage buying the whole slab

I've been drinking 330ml bottles of asahi on a 24 slab for anywhere from $45 to $55. Available 600ml can can be had occasionally in a 24 slab for $77 or $80. I'm really struggling to get my freak on here at a reasonable price. Damn , sure miss those king brown wobbly pops in vientiane.

The other day I was in CM at the big mall and happened to see this Rye Whiskey. I was interested so I did a bit of research online as I was there...Got good reviews..so I bought a bottle. I cracked it tonight and have to say I am quite enjoying it. Nice nose, great taste and 90 proof.

Then took the pour out to my hammock and enjoyed a very nice sunset.

Oh, ya! I love Rebel Yell. Funny that you found that bottle because they have changed their name to just Rebel. So it is an old bottle.

^^ You are very correct Snubs and as Ootai will attest, I would usually not allow it. One word and Yogi would have jumped down but I wanted a nice pic... and some company. I don't have a problem with it so long as they get down when told.

Tbh it's a difficult one because when no humans are around the garden is the dogs' domain and they love sitting on the concrete tables because it's cooler than the ground.

This is how I read that last post…

A but shocked to read that Ootai was into the Gardner as well, must be a Korat/Issan thing.

^ Stumps... our lime trees are also absolutely laden at the moment. This is the first batch of the year and they are growing fast.

    That's where our similarity ends.

What I would like to say however, and hopefully without sounding at all weird, is that I've dreamt for a couple of years of supping a beer with Anna by my side.

    It's finally happened.

I can go back to work with one less worry...
