I can't drink much tequila ... have fallen down stairs drinking that stuff.

    Body shots are fun though

Dad brought the Mexican tequila back with the worm and ate the worm.

    Continuing this thread,

For New Years the missus and I sipped Don Julio 1942. This is an Anejo for which you sip it neat. Its too pricey(~ $125 for a 750mL) to mix and with its flavor you want to sip it slowly. It is not a lime and salt and shot style either. It was extremely good and one where you do not want to drink the entire bottle in one sitting. Maybe you start off the evening sipping it.

For an incredibly phenomenal taste one should try Don Julio "Real" (Tequila Don Julio REAL™). I have only had the pleasure of having this once and only a small glass a few years ago. At ~$350 for a 750ml you want to slowly enjoy this and probably only with a select few friends(unless of course they pitched in to buy it)

While some may cringe at the cost of these or any top shelf spirit, you absolutely get what you pay for if you are interested in what you drink. Same is to be said for single malt Scotch drinkers or Bourbon, Wine, Vodka, Cognac. There are the cheap "get drunk, puke, feel like crap for a few days" booze in plastic bottles, then there are spirits.

    Happy New Year

    Yeah, know what you mean....

For my money the best Tequila value on the planet. I've had better tasting tequilas but the where much more expensive, and rare.

New Years 2012 we were downing shots, dancing and signing until I turned a little weird and decided I needed to get out and walk the thirty miles home. Not wanting me to get lost my wife and friends bundled me in the car and took me home. I've no idea why we were not invited back this year

I'm a single barrel Bourbon kinda guy. Like some Irish and Welsh an occasional scots whisky. Tekillya is not a real high on my list (there was a time...) But I'll set the Rare Breed aside for an evening in conversation with a few ice cubes and a bottle o' this. Have a friend, a Tequila aficionado, takes a yearly trip to Mexico for fishing and Tequila hunting. He's not real bright; doesn't truly understand what "rested" and aged means, can't pronounce Reposado worth a fuck, but he is in possession of a finely tuned palate. Brings home some mighty fine, and obscure, tequilas

The only place I've seen decent (100% agave- it might have been a middle-of-the-road brand like Cazadores) tequila for sale in Thailand was at the duty free shop at Suvarnabhumi, so of course it was for export only.

Last night I stopped by the local Liquor barn and picked up 2 new Tequilas I have been wanting to sip.

1st one is Casa Noble Anejo $57,

I must say Casa Noble is really top notch and I highly recommend it. You can smell the seasoned Oak cask with the other hints of spices and the Agave. It was super clean tasting and every sip got better.

2nd was Don Pilar Anejo $41.

I have not cracked open the Don Pilar yet. I was reading up on its distilling process and it is very interesting. This is a new Tequila and the Anejo only recently hit the market in 2008.

I have been sampling Tequilas from various regions in Mexico as I have read(Like grapes in wine making) that the region the cactus is grown has a significant bearing on its taste along with the makers choice of casks to age. Some prefer virgin oak casks, others prefer only Jack Daniels old oak casks and others prefer casks that were used to age cognac.
