Err, in comparison to the conflagration that raged on the Eastern front the allied effort was a mere sideshow. The krauts had in fact been beaten by 1942 and the rest was simply a long denouement.

Hyperbole vaunting the septic/British supremacy is precisely that but then, since when did truth change silly old duffers withering on about their experiences and feeble understanding of the actuality?
