Give it a bit of wellie
Give it a bit of wellie
Out of interest I just had a go at the one in my bathroom and the top pops straight off and isn't connected to anything.
I could fix this one no problem if there was something wrong with it.
Completely different design.
Nah it definitely feels like something will snap if wellie is added. I can see on mine that it doesn't have the little lines on the inside of the button walls. I reckon theres a special tool I need.Originally Posted by Primo

Occasionally your pictures are a tiny bit more tenuous than that, but this one is bang on the money. Where the fuck do you find them

You will more than likely find that you will need to replace the O ring or rubber Washer that sits at the bottom of the valve that seals the shitter box.
In other words stick your dial in the shitter box and push the button, the tube that goes up and down is not sealing any more and allows the water to drain out into the bowl without sealing properly. The Rubber seal is fucked.
Common problem and an easy cheap fix.
Close the ventil of the pipe to the flushing tank after it's filled, that stops the running in any case. Now, if the water level in the tank remains the same, the seal at the bottom of the tank underneath the bell is ok, and the ventil at the top must be adjusted, it doesn't close properly and water flows over.
You know when you see a car that's broken down on the side of the road with its bonnet up and a Thai person just staring at the engine...?
This is a bit like that.
So for the first bathroom, just by taking the buttons in and out last night, it seems to have fixed the leak problem.
And for the wifes bathroom pictured above, just taking the top off has fixed the leak.
So it sounds to me like the buttons were a bit sticky.
Sound about right?
O.k I'm not ready to call this one fixed yet. (One downstairs is fixed)
It works perfectly with the top off but as soon as the top goes on it leaks again.
To get the top back on I have to pull the center tubes forward slightly otherwise it won't sit properly.
Also I can see what the top is doing to the tubes on the left when the top goes on.
To make this easier to read, what are the names of the tubes? Ones on the left Water Inlets (with a floaty thing). Ones in the centre?
WD40 more like.Originally Posted by Dillinger

Ballcock on the left, flushing unit on the right..over flow pipe front centre..if you have water entering the cistern and it does not stop after the flush has finished then you need to adjust the ballcock as that is the unit that controls the water entering, it should have some sort of screw or thread etc on it that you can adjust. When adjusted properly it will close the valve and no more water will enter the system when the cistern has reached its correct level. So go have a look on the blue unit for something that can be adjusted..
^ that sounds extremely gay
Ok cheers Primo.

Interesting :-)
God.
I could fix a running toilet blindfolded

Yes Socal, you would stick your cock in the pipe.
Does that come from years of experience being blindfolded and tied to a toilet?Originally Posted by socal
