    Insomnia - ever have it?

Haven't been sleeping right for the past few weeks or so.
Seem to have too much energy right now because I work out a lot and also stand on my feet at work for 6 or more hours.

It seems that I can't fall asleep sometimes till 3 or 4am and then I sleep till 11 or 12pm, which is not a habit I like to keep with.

Any suggestions to get to sleep?

She certainly was not 'running a country' in her 80s.

By then she was having conversations with radiators.

This is true.. I guess my sleeping pattern is off though. I usually like to go to bed around llpm to midnight and get up at 8 or 9am to have a full day..but now I miss half the day.

I heard Melatonin helps wonders for a natural sleeping aid. Anyone try it?
    Thanks for the suggestions peeps.

Melatonin is part of your skin defence against sunburn, i was in the RAF in Oman and they gave us melatonin pills to combat the sun until we got acclimatised.
It reacts with direct sunheat apparently and helps the skin absorb the sunray.

Some people don't seem to need alot of sleep. You really should be getting 7+ hours of sleep though according to what I've been reading to be healthy. Alcohol doesn't make you sleep well, in fact you don't get as much REM sleep if you are intoxicated.

Ah... but many people take melatonin as a sleep aid.

Miss T, i can vouch for this against suburn as it brings oils to the skin naturally.
The guys in Oman who never took the pills took longer to get UN-burnt, for me melatonin is great but not to use lightly.

Menopause is fun. I get night sweats and wake up at about 4. These days i sleep around 5 hours a day. That includes a siesta in the afternoon. (about 20 minutes cat nap)

But i can still get out and about and do whatever.

It's boring waking up at 4. And it's cold. Make a coffee and sit under the duvet reading the Daily Mail and here.

Up until i was 40 i could sleep 10 hours straight.

I have tried sleeping pills before, but they make me feel all sort of woozy the next day, out of it. So my doctor said to just keep going natural sleep, including the siestas. And if i really cannot function during the day and sleep badly at night she will find an alternative. Now, if i could find someone to roll joints then i would sleep!!

Diazepam are great when you are trying to get off to sleep but can't , I had them for a back condition to relax ,used to make me sleep for about 4 hours but I felt very refreshed after . Not good for long term use though very addictive .

    few weeks boo hoo

    havent slept well since my daughter was born 3 and a half years ago. she's a poor sleeper, wakes up because;

    she needs a wee wee
    she's having a nightmare
    she wants strawberries at 3am
    plain vengefulness

try eating shitloads of turkey;it contains something that then turns into that melatonin stuff
