What financial worries do you have for your winter years?
For me it's inflation. Everything seems to cost so much that any revenue from savings and investments will go nowhere.
In the UK today it costs GBP25 to go into Warwick Castle. That's 500 shillings - just to go in a castle ! My giddy aunt.
The UK Government is now giving people financial assistance to buy properties up to GBP 600,000. Now, to me, six hundred thousand is a lot of money, not benefit territory at all!
First time I went to Thailand was in 1989. It was a Kuoni holiday to Thailand and Egypt that cost a few hundred quid. That would probably cost two thousand pounds now.
What does that go up to in 15 years time? Ten thousand pounds?
I was hoping to spend my retirement going on nice vacations. Looks like a pipedream, and survival will be the priority.
