I kind of miss the involvement in the various aspect of my work prior to retirement and of the readily availability of the international travel and involvement with foreign nationals. Now as a consultant in similar and related efforts, I am thankful that I still have the iron in the fire and get called upon occasionally to be involved with a mission to fulfill. Although the dosh is not all that bad, it's more the filling of a void in being involved in worthwhile efforts than anything else.

That international travel is overrated in my opinion. I certainly don't miss those long-ass flights and the airport hassles. The FF Miles were OK tho!

part of what I enjoyed as airport hassles were something I was often and fortunately ushered through or otherwise able to bypass.... there were occasions though that I got hung up in the lines..... I understand any misgivings about having to do that on a regular basis....

the use of FF miles gained from company paid travel were fortunately something that we were authorized to use in later years... it paid for lots of travel that wife and I did on our own...
