a cop came around to buy catfish from the farang (who had no workpermit,btw), and saw what i was doing. he thought it hilarious.
i told him that i was a bit worried i might accidentally electrocute a villager or two inbetween, and he said that as long as i had demarcated my boundary, no plomplem: they have no right to be n your land.
then he offered me an unregistered .38 snubby just in case the villagers survived the 220 volts, and i declined, saying i did not want to get into even more shit, and he explained that if the gun was registered and i shot someone illegally entering my land, there would be no shit.
if the gun used is unegistered, i would be in big shit and would have to pay a 400baht fine!!!
dunno if this is what the law is exactly, but it seems that property rights are very much enforceable in thailand, and the thais all know it, just happen to ignore it.
