    Football kings of Manchester ?

Manchester United v Manchester City, Old Trafford, 12.45pm Sat 12 February

Will Uniteds defender injuries tell or will over cautious City not be able to exploit them ?

''Liam Gallagher, their celebrity fan, has spoken this week of expecting "another boring 0-0 draw".''

No i'll go 2-0 to City

..or will the entire audience die of boredom from watching a bunch of overpaid fags falling over for 90 mins (unless United need to score then it'll be 10 mins injury time added).

    Man U. win 2-1

I just hope it's as good as their meeting last year. That was one of the best games yet.

I'm a red through and through born and bred in Manchester although I live here in Thailand now, United to win for sure.

Citee cannot afford to let them win and the rest of the teams don't want UTD to win

    MEN:
Given the way both teams have lined up - it's little surprise to see the game now bunched into midfield.

Physics-defying goal from Rooney in a pretty entertaining match. No one will catch Utd now.

I am no fan of either Manchester team but I am pleased to see United put city in their place.

Also very pleased for Wayne Rooney. To take the stick he has had and then score a goal like that is real class. Arsenal (who have figured out how to beat the mighty Wolves) will be there to take the title if United slip up.

Meanwhile Southend are in danger of reaching the play-offs for Division One.

That was Rooney's best goal ever. But I'm still not sure why Berbatov didn't start instead of Giggs. Can't complain though, as my prediction came true, and when Berbatov came in I thought he might spoil my prediction. I still won 100 baht for the win though.

It was a big win for UTD, but I also think it was a big loss for city especially the Arse winning

ONE TO REMEMBER: Nani celebrates with Wayne Rooney after the second goal

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Wayne Rooney's derby winner as the best goal he had seen at Old Trafford after the 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

Nani put United ahead before City equalised via a deflection off David Silva. Rooney won the game with an unstoppable overhead kick into the top corner.

    "It was stunning," he said.

"[Nani's opener] was an unbelievable goal, but nobody in their right sense will even talk about it.

"All the talk will be about that winning goal - unbelievable."

Asked if he had seen a better goal at the ground, Ferguson replied: "No.

"Rooney hit a volley against Newcastle some years ago and it was that ferocity... We've had some fantastic goals here but in terms of execution... you'll never see that."

Ferguson now wants Rooney and strike partner Dimitar Berbatov to start producing on the road.

"I have to say that what I need to get out of Wayne and Berbatov is performances away from home," the Scot added on Sky Sports 2. "They've not been as good as they have been at home.

"That's a quandary because, the ability those two have, they really should be dictating games for us. When they do, it'll make a hell of a difference to Manchester United."

The Reds' victory moved them eight points ahead of Roberto Mancini's side, but Ferguson does not believe United can write their local rivals off.

Asked if this marked the end of City's title challenge, he replied: "No. They're in the top four. They've got a big, strong squad. They'll win more games than you think."

Blue may choose from the following list of excuses.
    a) The ref was biased, part of the anti-city conspiracy.
    b) We should have had at least two penalties.
    c) Both their goals were offside.
    d) The pitch handicapped our footballing style.
    e) Rooney should have been sent off in the first half.
    f) The grass was too long
    g) The sun was in our eyes
    h) the stadium was too full and it put us off

Man Utd have been inconsistent this season, especially away from home. They have ridden their luck aganst some teams, such ad West Brom and come away with a result.
They are grinding results out even when they don't play well.
Maybe they have rode their luck a bit and will have a few stinkers on the run in, just to make it interesting.
I think Mr F has a tough job this season, trying to win the title back, and get the champions league as well.
Would love to see Harry and Spurs break the top 4 this time.

Quite right, this years title chase is far from over, Utd's away form is worrying to say the least and they still have to play Arsenal, Pool and Chelsea away.

Oh, come on! He shinned it and the only way the ball got to him was via a deflection on the cross which took out the defender. Looks fantastic but don't believe all the Sky and BBC punditry. Remember you can't polish a turd.
