ahhhh it all sounds too wonderful but will have to take a rain check this year as we have a week in adelaide before going to new zealand for Christmas, however the old man has signed up some sport channel for the month of dec and jan so the cricket is sorted!
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Yep your correct KW - Marcus is too stressed to take on the Aussies. He had a bit of a blubber and then flew home. Gee those POMS are girls blouses

    Trescothick quits Ashes tour
England batsman Marcus Trescothick is flying home from the Ashes tour of Australia this morning after suffering a recurrence of his stress-related illness.

Trescothick flew out of Sydney late last night after failing to take the field during New South Wales' second innings in the drawn three-day tour game at the SCG.

Trescothick also cited stress when he quit England's tour of India earlier this year.

"Following discussions between Marcus and the England medical staff, it was decided that Marcus should fly home at the earliest opportunity," England head coach Duncan Fletcher said in a statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Former England captain Alec Stewart said the news was a big blow to England's chances of retaining the Ashes.

"Now they've got to go back to the drawing board and the selectors have got to now work out who's going to open and how they're going to shuffle that order about," he said.

Trescothick has failed to find form in his two innings on the Ashes tour, scoring 2 against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra last Friday and 8 against New South Wales.

The Somerset batsman walked off England's tour of India in February and then took a break over the English summer to prepare for the Ashes.

Shortly after the team's arrival for the Ashes tour, Trescothick told reporters he was over his illness, but was bracing for Australian vitriol from fans in the upcoming series.

He said he had arrived in Australia feeling refreshed and brighter than when he left India, when he said he was burnt out and unable to enjoy the game.

Trescothick was the second-highest run scorer with 431 behind Kevin Pietersen (473) in last year's Ashes series but has not scored a century in 15 matches against Australia.

England's next tour match is a three-dayer against South Australia which starts in Adelaide on Friday. The first Ashes Test starts at the Gabba on November 23.

    What a wanker!

This attitude probably sums up English sport. Respect to the Aussies; they still have pride in representing their country.

A couple of yobbos told him to go back to India - so what.

Hats off to the chap though at least he didnt go running off to the authorities blubbering to anyone who listened.

Whats the difference saying to him 'go back to india' then it is say calling Andrew Symonds a gollywog or telling matty hayden he is a red neck bastard from QLD. That happens all the time and you don't hear anything about that!

My second favourite session or day of any test series in Australia (after boxing day) is the first session of the first test at the GABBA.

I couldn't believe my luck when my business trip to Perth next week coincided with that special moment. However I couldnt believe it when the only spare time that I have happens to be when I am in a swish hotel room with 5 hours to kill waiting for a plane at excately the same time of that special first session

Which part of Perth didn't you understand?

I will be in Perth - the Gabba is in Brisbane

But I have a entire morning off in my hotel room with it on the TV which is much better at home with a wife and daughter who hate the game!

The Ashes has something to do with cricket, right ?

You know what you get when you load a cricket player up on steroids ?

Cheers Humphrey, a late night out the evening before at my favourite Perth pub which just happens to be comedy night which I love, so that slight hung over feeling that feels so good when you have not only hot and cold water and room sservice for breakfast but crisp clean white sheets, thick dark curtains, freezing cold air con, and a remote control.

But wait there is more, the flight later that day isnt to home - its across to kalgoorlie to see my best man who just happens to be working up there minus the wife and kids and has 3 days off when I arrive

Yeah I hope he hangs around - he might learn something about tradition and grace and humility in sport

Oh and turning up drunk to a game and racial taunts and match fixing but lets teach him that later
