Something like this: ''Listen, Shane, we hope we weren't out of line with all that stuff about your off-field antics being a disgrace to the baggy green, and we hope you rot in hell. Jokes, just jokes. All is forgiven. Come in, SPINNER!'' And while we are it, we could also bring back Glenn McGrath to stiffen up the batting line-up.
I think that was written only half in jest...

I'm so looking forward to the next test.

But, the Aussies can get a big batting total, they do have batting quality... BigP is not better, is not as good, as the two bob Aussie captain, and they have other class batsmen too. I reckon that this series will be very very close, and the fightback will start at the next test; it is so vital for us to focus and push our advantage, cause we can easily lose two tests on the trot...

They couldn't exactly bat on an Adelaide carpet, so if they make the wicket any easier, they'll never bowl England out.

Two more draws and the Ashes stay in England.

    An oldie but goodie...

A lady walked into a Police Station in Adelaide and the desk Sergeant said "Can I help you?"
"Yes" she said, "I'd like to report a case of sexual assault".
"Where did it happen?" the Sergeant asked.
"In the park just down the road" she replied.
    "Can you describe what happened?"
"Yes, I was walking along the footpath in the park near the trees when a man jumped out of the bushes and dragged me in there, removed my underwear then he dropped his pants to his knees and had his way with me".
"Could you give me a description of him?"
"Yes, he was wearing white shoes, long white trousers, a white shirt and he had these two big long pads from his feet up to and over his knees, one on each leg".
"Sounds to me like he was a cricketer, most probably a batsman", said the Sergeant.
"Yes", said the lady, "He was an Australian Cricketer".
"That's very observant", said the Sergeant, "You worked that out from his accent?"
"No", she replied. "I worked it out because he wasn't in for very long".

It ia a sad fact that Aussies in general don't have the same pride and nationalistic fervor as the Poms when it comes to supporting their national side covering most sports.

I remember the Barmy Army still supporting their side with gusto even when they were copping a pasting 5 nil.

And our kids are preferring to stay in doors these days playing on the idiot internet rather then get outside and kick a ball around.

I do not believe that the Aussie Government have dried up funding for sports moreover that most Aussies don't give a fok anymore about whether their teams win or not or more importantly have a serious attempt at becoming good enough to get into a national sporting side.

The enthusiasm for real sport is on the wane in England, too. If kids are interested in any sport, it's Football, but that's only because they see a bunch of rich prats shagging WAGs, driving flash motors and paying 50 quid for a shot of Grey Goose.

Sadly, the ones that actually look like they might be good footballers start doing it as soon as their first ten grand a week contract rolls in, often during their teens.

This is the real problem with English football.

As for the rest of it, Cricket and Rugby rely on the good schools, where the parents and the school encourage sports, as opposed to the chavs that use their benefit money to buy Wayne and Jordan an Xbox and let them fester in the room all day.

I am not whinging just stating what I believe to be a fact.

And as far as supporting my national side you will not get anyone more fervent and proud then me win, lose or draw.

On the football front at least, I find it hard to support a team of overpaid pussies who do not give blood in an England shirt.

They feel they have a right to be there, whereas with Ramsey you earned the right to get in the team, and had to keep earning the right to stay in it.

It's no wonder they go to international tournaments full of themselves, and end up getting pumped.

Geez, Beer owes Warnie a huge favour. Never heard of him 'til early this week when Warnie was crowing on about him. Hope he's up to the challenge.

Surprised to see two spinners in the team for Perth and only 3 quiicks. I would have thought 4 quicks and one full time spinner with Hussey and Clarke throwing a few down as well.
