Nah. Ballack has a rep for niggling fouls and winding people up to get opposing players sent off. Plus he's a serial diver, so ref's never know if he's shamming or seriously injured for real..

I just thought if I was in that situation facing my last WC, I'd be pretty peeved about an intentional foul from that prick Boateng, whether or not I had a bad rep for niggling fouls etc.

Anyway seems as Ballack is being fairly pragmatic about it.

Leicester tried the same trick on Boothroyd in the play-off against Cardiff.

Agreed . . . I guess it helps with Ballack out of the way for Boateng in the group stages.

It seems that Ballack will fly to South Africa with the German team to offer moral and tactical support, kind of like Beckham.
