I know, I know, midgets have equal rights to job opportunities... Or, folk are being exploited for brain dead tourists; I go with the latter argument, though it is equally the Thais who are managing it...

I once saw a kickboxing circus in Isaan, they had every thing from little boys of four boxing right through to old men of seventy odd. It was very interesting, especialy the old men kickboxing who were hard as nails and drew the most interest and the most gambling, it would have been wild to see midgets at it though.
It drew a hell of a crowd.

I suppose it may be slightly exploitative in a way, but then a fair proportion of the entire Thai tourist trade could be accused of being exploitative so it's not very surprising really. It may not be politically correct or morally acceptable to some but the midget gets paid, the promoter makes money, the bar sells beer, thats just how it is in Thailand. Translate that to the beer-bar environment and the same applies. It is what it is, and it IS pretty fukcing funny!

theres a joint in manila (mabini) called the hobbit house all the staff are midgets it's a bit strange when you first go there but it's a great time all these little people running about.

I got hit on by a Thai midget bar girl in pattaya. She slammed her hand on the bar and said I need a man, looking straight at me. It was about 1 am and she did look pretty cute and gave me a woody but some how I dont think the wife would have been into it.
