Also I would like to add my sincere apreciation for the bookmakers offering 21/10 on Germany to beat Portugal this evening
Maybe they consulted a few members of this forum for pathetic advice on how the game would turn out!
Honestly Portugal!!?? For F*ck sake Portugal??!!
^^ Slight cock up on the quoting front there![]()

haha yes it was originally posted by me but I was pissed when I did it.
And another one bites the dust, Croatia some peoples dark horses (again!!) always seem to recieve the tag as a dark horse and baffles me as to why since the days of Davor Suker and Robert Prosceneki(sp) have gone.
The only thing I will miss about the Croatians is the passion showed my manager Slaven Billic, he was a joy to watch running up and down the touch lines, throwing himself on the floor and celebrating a goal as if he were on the terrace as a fan.
I don't know how many of you stayed up to watch the game last night but what a load of sh*te it was, terrible passing, retarded strikers right up until the 119th minute. In the 119th minute Croatia scored and they went wild players, fans, managers everyone involved with the team it was a great sight, ok with one minute to go time to sleep soon. I picked up the remote waiting for the final whistle to switch off the TV to get some zzzzzzzz and then in the final minute of injury time Turkey pull one out of their ass and equalise with the last kick of the game, again the place errupts a see of red jumping wildly around the ground.
on to penalties and Croatia were shocking, Spurs new boy Modric missed the first of three missed/saved penalties and Turkey are through!
^ you should have been looking forward to it a few days ago
Germany won 3-2 sorry to piss on your chips.
Tonight Holland V Russia - Come on the Dutchies!!!
Congratulations on tipping a 1/8 shotI'm sure your wife and children will sleep a lot easier in their beds tonight, now the house has come back off the market
You sir, clearly have a lack of understanding. At 8/1 Portugal were obvious value, and can consider themselves fairly unfortunate to have been eliminated by a goal that should never have stood.
But that's football. Hopefully Holland can do the business tonight![]()
I will accept your congratulations, just wish you had bet your house against mine!!
I said this as you and navydoubs were backing a team who in my opinion are the most over-rated team in this competition.
just because the bookies made them shorter odds than most doesn't make them a great team, they won a game and odds shorten that is betting.
I had great pleasure in betting on Germany at odds of 21/10 to beat Portugal, I thought it was amazing especially as Germany were pre-tournament favourites, also I bet on each of the group matches on Holland and against France and Italy they were 2/1 outsiders, just goes to show the bookies aren't always right, it is clearly obvious that we will never agree on the matter about Portugal which really does baffle me, until they get a couple of world class out and out strikers they will always be also rans.
Now they are out of the competition hopefully will have to hear no more about them.

as I said in previous post to FastEddie we will never agree about Portugal and let's not waste our lives boring eachother about them, they are out, end of story.
^will you learn to sodding quote properly![]()

haha will have to stop posting when pissed!!
Amazing game tonight, totally underestimated the Russians.
I know Hiddink is the Russian manager but would you guys celevrate like that knocking your home country out of the tournament? I wouldn't for sure
Agree^Originally Posted by Red dragon
gotta say though he has the right idea when he went there, ditched all the dead wood and got all the kids together and brought them through. good luck to em.
Im sure thats something the germans used to do way back, that way the team or back bone of it will be together for 10yrs or more.
Now RD who was it you were backing again???
sure i read dutchies somewhere??
Your footballing knowledge outstands me, words fail me as to how or why you would back such a team as holland, laughable, honestly laughable!!![]()
I was out on the town tonight and only caught the Holland v Russia game from the final five minutes of normal time onwards. I can't talk about the game before then, but in extra time the Russians totally deserved it, i was very impresssed. To be honest, i stilll feel a little bit shocked. They're turning it on at the right time.
I really think that so far we've seen a really good tournament. I was disappointed by the standard of entertainment in the world cup two years ago, but we've seen a lot of attacking football in comparison in this tournament.
^
They deserved it all the way through the game, I have neer really paid much attention to the Russians, but the way they played last night was outstanding.
They played with such pace and slick passing, I will put my hands up and say I was expecting the Dutch to rip them to shreads, Holland failed to punish Russia with a few chances in the first half and Van Der Sar became very busy especially in the second half.
I backed the Russians from day 1, simply because they have the best manager in the world. He knows how to get the best out of all the players he works with.
^
He has a very good track record even with South Korea all be it with a touch of dodgeyness in their World Cup run a few years back.
Don't think he will be too welcome in Holland after the way he celebrated last night though
That team will only get better too, all kids.
come on the ruskies!!!!!!!!!!
^
I still want to see them knocked out next round though.
Germany V Spain would be the dream final with Spain clinching it.
Wonder how many of these young Russians will be popping up in Seria A, La Liga, Eredivsie and Premiership before long
This could be a cracking game provided the Italians don't go on a defensive mission.
Spain not beaten Italy for 88 years in a tournament but I think this could be the time they do it, Spain looking good and with Italy having their two best midfielders out suspended (Pirlo and Gattuso) Spain will hopefully send the Spaghetti munchers home
2-0 Spain
what a boring shite match!!
^ Agreed.
