Quite a day, 26 wickets fell. As an Essex boy I was disappointed that they managed to throw away an apparently commanding lead.

I checked the end of play reports on the Interweb last night, but have given up now after the disappointment against Hampshire and Kent.

I watched it in bed. At one point it really looked like England might be able to throttle them successfully, but honestly fair cop for excellent batting, even if the bowling did help.

There was only one clear chance of a catch and it was fluffed.

I see that Surrey won the title.

Lancashire, heavily fancied at the start of the season, out of the running weeks ago.
