    You tell me.

It's what you were dribbling on about on the 'what are you drinking' thread this morning.

No typo there - just a bloke who's been steadily pickling his brain for four decades or so, by the looks.

First up Test for the Ashes is usually 'The Gabba' ... not a recent happy hunting ground for the Poms

England has a notoriously poor record at the Gabba and have only won two Test matches at the ground since WW2.

Do you think using six chico-favourite makes your post any more interesting . . . what happened Hal, did you get rimmed too often by your fellow English posters for not being part of their group?

    As for your exaggerration . . . re mentioning England . . . another chico-esque move.

    Seriously, settle down.

    Hey we can draw it.

500+ for 2 in the second innings could do it.

    Let’s be positive.

    Plus, Tim Paine’s their leader.

I just hope we are competitive. Our showing against India was woeful. We need another 3 batsman to work with root, crucially openers staying in for 20 overs would be a start. atm our batters don't seem to be able to read balls, chase ones they should leave and get all white ball because they have no patience; all in all ideal for a test series down under

It's a sad testament to the state of some of our performances there that we have been reduced to hoping to be competitive.

^ Indeed, but we seem to have forgotten how to bat in tests. With the all pervading influence of white ball cricket its only getting worse - sadly Eng aren't alone in this - i'd actually welcome the odd 5 day draw instead of the match being decided on day one or two and finished inside four

^^Scour the neighbours and former colonies for anyone who looks a bit sporty and fast-track them into the team, make them Captain if they know which end of the bat to hold! And it's not a sad testament, it's simply a reflection of what England is.

Fella, pretty much your whole nation has been imported from elsewhere.
