England's remaining three Twenty20 internationals against India will be played behind closed doors because of a surge in coronavirus cases, authorities said Monday.

India's cricket board said the 110,000 capacity Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad would be empty for the games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

All five games are being played in the main city in Gujarat state. The series is so far level 1-1.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has become increasingly wary as Covid-19 cases have surged in many major cities in the past two weeks. "The decision was arrived at following detailed discussions with the state and local health authorities," said a BCCI statement.

T20 no. 3 underway, Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl.

    India 57/3 off 10 ovs.

They've added poorly timed crowd noise.

They scored a six so I've turned it off to avoid jinxing it.

You have to laugh, somewhere in a studio in Delhi some bloke had the job of pressing the "crowd noise" button every time anyone scored a run or took a wicket, and yet when England scored the winning runs he was nowhere.

I guess no-one noticed India won the 4th T20 after England won the toss and bowled.

    The decider is tomorrow.

Some good bowling by India here putting a lid on things.

    130/2 off 13.

    95 required off 7ovs.

Kohli is bending the umpire's ear over something.

Eng didn't have control, not enough variation and too predictable by Morgan. For once its the bowlers have let Eng down.

I also think Eng are guilty of being too anal in selection. Morgan has ignored a load of talent that did well in Oz Big Bash - what a wanker, Hales should be back in for a start and drop Roy atm as he's too inconsistent.

Bit late now, it's on to the ODI's on the 23rd, 26th and 28th.

At last. A couple of injuries and they finally bring in Malan and Livingstone.

England's bowlers looking a bit rattled here, as India look like they'll top 350.

Pant caught in the deep now though.

Put more stoppages, adverts and tighter trousers into it and you'd be on the edge of your seat.

100-0 off 15.4 - JB givin' it some ommer.

Character development snubs, nothing like a game of cricket to build character.

Hope i don't jinx this but going well. I have cricinfo in just for the text and comment from the Indian fans who were waxing lyrical in their batting display but now...

avinash: "This is getting ridiculous..England are good, but at least make the pitches helpful for spinners as we are playin in India, this is getting boring...nothing in it for the bowlers..." Are you not entertained? FWIW, Moeen got through his overs for 47...

Vishal Dikshit pings me something that has captured the Stokes madness:
Stokes scored 49 off 12 after his 50:
    6, 6, 6, 1, 6, 4, 2, 6, 6, 2, 4, W
