Former umpire David Shepherd has died after a battle with cancer, aged 68.
Shepherd, who was born in Devon, officiated in 92 Tests and 172 one-day internationals, including three World Cup finals before retiring in 2005. He was famous for his aversion to the 'Nelson' - scores with a multiple of 111 - which made him hop at the crease nervously between deliveries.

After tendulkar's incredible innings of 175, India came so close to Knocking off 351, within 3.
So today's match is vital for India.
    Early start.
India win the toss and elect to bat.

India 81 for 7 wickets and it must be a difficult batting pitch.

I don't know mate but either the Aussies bowled well or the pitch was a minefield early on in the Indian innings.

I suppose only time will tell and at this stage Australia have to get the 170 which may be a problem if the pitch is dicky.

I think the quality of batting right down the order now has improved out of sight and that's why the higher order batsman have to play high risk strokes right from the opening ball.

That's why I far prefer Test Cricket to one dayer's as very often a great batsman cannot display his technique because he is not allowed too because he is ordered to slog.

^ Watson I bet, a man with very little traditional batting technique but great hand/ eye co-ordination.

Yes add that to the thrashing of the Poms yesterday in the Rugby not a bad weekend for the boys.

Can anyone tell me whether Martin Johnson has won a game as the England coach?

He isn't the coach, just like Woodward wasn't.

Manager. He doesn't coach and he doesn't peel oranges.

    John Wells is the coach.

    Yes 6 or 7 I think.

Do you feel the need to ridicule all the greats of the game that are not Australian? Oh let me guess, Johnson was crap?
