The UK had raised all the taxes on alcohol and the supermarkets were full of Becks Vier and a 4% Stella when I was last there. That was weak. I couldn't imagine a 3.5% beer although I did buy a carton of bottles of Tooheys from Siam Expat last year without looking at the label. They were 3. Something %.

In countries that take drink-driving very seriously but you'd still like to have a few bevvies before driving, mid or light beers have a place. I really enjoy the taste of Gold anyway, and like waking up with a clear head to get shit done early (like play golf ). It's excellent in a beer batter too.
