Gary Sobers Hits Six Sixes in One Over

This popped up in my YouTube feed today for some reason and brought back memories.

Growing up in County Durham meant I had no first class county to follow.
Couldn't support the nearest - Yorkshire , the enemy so I went with Glamorgan, who to my pleasure became county champions in 1969 - the only year in which I bought a Wisden.
Majid Khan and Malcolm Nash were my two 'heroes'.

I felt bad for Nash when this happened but Sobers could play could he not?

I became a member of Durham when they became a first class county in 92 and held a membership for a number of year until I realised I was never going back and cricket became just a memory.

“The ultimate moral test of any government is the way it treats three groups of its citizens. First, those in the dawn of life — our children. Second, those in the shadows of life — our needy, our sick, our handicapped. Third, those in the twilight of life — our elderly.”

    Hubert Humphrey American VP 1965/9.
