Rashford should have been there too

Nobody can give what Rashford can give when England are 1-0 down in the quarter finals

    Correctomondo.

With Foden wide left and Saka wide right, Kane as #9.

Don't.... I repeat.... Don't push Belli back next to Rice to accommodate having Foden as the central #10 at the the expense of Noo-Noo.

I still think not taking Rashford will come back to hurt em.

Nobody up top can do what he can do with his pace and directness even if he has been shit this season.

He also got 3 goals at the last world cup and is generally a player who turns up in the big games.

1-1 in the 1/4 finals and you bring Grealish or Rashford on?

Only one of them is genuinely gonna frighten a team and force them to change their tactics and his name aint Jack.

    England 3 Bosnia-Herznhhgggggva 0

Useful for Southgate to look at his squad, not much performance wise to crow about.

    Oh, I dunno.

First half was dull as ditch water, but patience is needed in this sort of game.

    Serbia will likely be similar.

Troubling to have so many attacking players.

Saka, Foden, Palmer all fighting for one spot really.

    Not really.

Foden Belli Saka behind Kane, Palmer and Grealish as subs/backup.

It's a fantastic situation to be in, and probably one of the best English attacks in many a year.

Got a ton on the Belgians at 16 with Patrick P who also have England faves at threes, France 7-1 and hosts at fours

Can't fit 'em all in but they're probably the best English players at the moment.

Which makes you wonder why Southgate didn't with experiment them a bit against Bosnia-Hersghzhgfsernaa.

Oh that's right, because he's fucking clueless.

Foden can play on the left drifting in or in the centre.

Bellingham will most likely be central.

Saka's berth is on the right, agreed.

Mao has Palmer on the bench, with which I also agree.

Rashford is free to spend as much time as he likes in Dublin

What do you think would be a more balanced set up?

Foden is ineffective on the left, probably the one that should play on the right.

Bellingham has played on the left of a diamond.

    Palmer could anchor a diamond.

Saka could play RWB in a 3-5-2.

There's all sorts of options, but it's too late to try them out now.

Funnily enough he's played many games in that position. He's just better as an all out attacker.

If ever I needed proof that I could reel off the entire Italian squad from 20 years ago quicker than I could name 5 of them now, this is it. :/

Maguire dropped from squad = England to reach final at least.
