I think Aussie fans know he is the irascible type. I expect him to smash a few rackets while he's in the tournament.
Novax's dad is saying he's been re-arrested.
^ Novax's dad is soooooooooo dramatic.
He never was nor has been 'arrested' ... merely detained.

Novak free after ‘Round 1’ visa battle win as judge quashes government’s call
"World tennis No. 1 Novak Djokovic has claimed a sensational “Round 1” court victory over the Australian government in his bid to remain in Australia. The Federal Court of Australia on Monday overturned the Commonwealth’s decision to cancel Djokovic’s visa on health grounds, ordering his release from immigration detention within 30 minutes of the decision.
Judge Anthony Kelly abruptly ended days of legal wrangling and overturned the cancellation of Djokovic’s visa, saying the move to cancel it was unreasonable.
It means the world No. 1 will be allowed to stay in Australia and have his passport returned to him.
It was an extraordinary setback for the Australian government, which has imposed strict pandemic requirements on arriving foreign travellers for the past two years.
But a government lawyer warned that Australia may yet use ministerial powers to order Djokovic’s removal from the country, which would result in him being banned for three years.
With the Australian government facing a humiliating and high profile defeat, lawyer Christopher Tran informed the judge that immigration minister Alex Hawke may still decide to use his “personal power of cancellation” despite the player’s victory.
The 34-year-old Djokovic arrived in Melbourne last week ahead of the Australian Open, which starts in just one week, hoping to win a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title.
But instead of a champion’s welcome, officers at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport decided the unvaccinated star had failed to present a solid medical reason for not being jabbed.
Djokovic’s visa was revoked and he was moved to a notorious immigration detention facility pending deportation.
In an emergency online court hearing Monday, the judge said the government side had agreed to drop its visa decision and he ordered Djokovic’s immediate release.
“Such release must occur no later than 30 minutes after the making of this order,” he said.
Djokovic has been in detention at the former Park Hotel, a five-storey facility that holds about 32 migrants trapped in Australia’s hardline immigration system -- some for years on end.
An early plea by Djokovic to be moved to a facility where he can train for the Australian Open had fallen on deaf ears, his lawyers said.
- ‘Not human conditions’ -
The court’s finding, read out in an online hearing, recalled that Djokovic was interviewed overnight at Melbourne airport after his arrival late on Wednesday night.
In the early hours of the next morning, the player was told he had until 8:30 am to reply to the proposed cancellation of his visa. But instead, the border agent cancelled it at 7:42 am.
If Djokovic had been given until 8:30 am as first promised, “he could have consulted others and made submissions to the delegate about why his visa should not be cancelled,” the judge said.
Though the hearing was held online, a small group of Djokovic fans gathered outside the federal court building, waving a Serbian flag, holding up a photo of their hero and dancing to the tune of an accordion.
Earlier, at a rally in Belgrade, Djokovic’s mother Dijana claimed her son was staying “in not human conditions” during his four-night stay at the detention centre.
“They detained him and even don’t give him breakfast, he has only lunch and dinner,” she said, quoted by local media.
“He does not have a normal window, he stares at a wall.” Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said this weekend that after “constructive talks” with her Australian counterpart “we managed that he gets gluten-free food, exercise equipment, a laptop.” Though it had no bearing on his court case, Djokovic’s claim of a positive test on December 16 stirred controversy after it emerged he had attended a gathering that day for the Serbian national postal service launching a stamp series in his honour.
Pictures shared by the Belgrade tennis federation also showed him at a young players’ event in the city on December 17.
It reported that he had handed over cups and prizes to players. No one was wearing a mask.
Another tennis player -- Czech doubles specialist Renata Voracova -- has also had her visa cancelled after obtaining a medical exemption.
She flew out of Australia on Saturday after being held in the same Melbourne centre as Djokovic.

Oh dear:
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
Well it seems some powerful people still want to fuck him off out of there.
Be great if they do.
Novak applied for a visa and it was granted. He told no lies and entered Australia on the assumption that he was perfectly legal.
He could have done no more, even the judge agreed with this.
The Australian government turned this into a political stoush and now have egg on their face.
FFS he is probably the best tennis player of all time. Give him a break. If it was Federer or Nadal they would have sailed in.
Justice has bee served
To be honest I don't know all of the precise details but there must have been something more he could have done, or he would've either stayed at home knowing it was a no-go or breezed thru his border entry like the hundreds of other tennis players currently down there.
Yeah but in this day and age, a visa isn't what it was. Someone from a country who needed one could have a valid visa to enter Thailand but that doesn't mean he/she is going to get out of the airport without all the other required documentation once they get here either.
Nowhere is having a valid visa an absolute right to enter, or stay in a country. It is always subject to review.
I hope they kick him out.
^^
Hope all you want, but he entered legitimately and will play in th AO.
Btw it would be interesting to hear how many members have received a legitimate visa to enter a country and been refused at the border.
Close to bugger all I assume
Australia cocked this up big time. Judge appeared to be mighty pissed off with the way Novak was treated and who can blame him.
I would hope to be hearing of resignations soon.
So the guy is an anti-vaxer.
Tennis Australia done all they could because they wanted him in the open, and sure they pulled strings.
If it was one of us that didn't want to be vaccinated, do you think we would of been granted a visa?

Again, having a valid visa is no longer the only requirement for international travel to many countries as it was a few years ago. Without the required Covid documentation, you're not getting in and the onus is on the traveller to know exactly what's required to meet the current entry requirements of each country. There's literally hundreds of international tennis players and their teams in Australia right now that all had no problem meeting the entry requirements, why is this guy any different?
^^ If we had proof of having had covid recently and had the required antibody count, confirmed by Australian medical boards, the yes.
Would average Joe have the same access to lawyers ... I doubt it ...
Yes, he could do more… he could have gotten jabbed.
And he could have just been refused a visa before flying.
What a clusterfvk mess up by the Aussie authorities.
So someone explain this to me.
Are unvaccinated foreigners not permitted to travel to Australia unless they can provide proof that they CANNOT be vaccinated for medical reasons?
Because that's the only exemption I can see.
In his case, that's patently bollocks.
