Saudi Football Federation Condemns Spectator Lashes

A lash from a spectator against a player from Al Ittihad is now getting the attention of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (Saff).

In any case, the federation says it will examine the code of conduct that applies to spectators in the stadium. It writes AFP.

The lash incident occurred during Thursday's Super Cup final between Al Ittihad and Al Hilal in Abu Dhabi. Video footage is circulating on social media of the incident in which Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah appears to get into an argument with a spectator.

Hamdallah sprays water in the direction of the spectator, who responds by taking out a whip, which he swings twice at the player.

In a joint statement on the matter, the Saudi federation and the players' association (PFA) said on Sunday they were "shocked" and condemned the "disgraceful scenes".

"Football in Saudi Arabia is a family sport and fortunately spectator trouble is extremely rare. That is why the actions of this so-called "fans" go against everything that Saudi football represents. We completely condemn the incident," the two players wrote on the federation's website.

Hamdallah equalized to 1-1 in the final match, but Al Hilal ended up winning 4-1.

What, they have to check if it bans "Whipping the players"?

The Barca president is demanding a replay of El Cashico after what I must admit seemed a slightly absurd goal line decision ruled out a Barca goal.

Why the fuck don't La Liga use goal line technology? It's about the only one that works properly.

At least Europe has one country making an even bigger mess of football plc than England.

The downside is more and more CL fixtures because it is financially up the creek in a barbed wire canoe.

For once England have an array of world class forwards all across the front line going into a tournament.

Kane, with prolific and in form strikers as backup.

With Foden, Belli and Saka behind. Grealish, Palmer in and out.

Would be good to see him stick with Rice and Mainoo behind.

Take out Kane and Grandpa Grealish and they certainly have age on their side to be national mainstays over the 4 tournaments.

Not that they'll actually win one, of course, but they'll beat a few weak teams 3 or 4 nil on the way to a QF.

Real win with another teenager scoring the winner. 14 points clear with a game extra played.

Looks like Real and Barca are entering another phase of together fielding the world's best 11 teenagers.

Would be great to see Barca get back to dominating the CL with players they've raised or nurtured.

United under 18s won the league 2 weeks ago.

They were 18 points clear at one stage.

Until yesterday they had lost 1 league game in the whole season.

They beat Liverpool 9-1 the other week.

They also beat City in the Premier League Cup Final the other night:

^ Amazing what a United team can achieve when not encumbered with a shit manager that has no idea what he's doing and a transfer policy of buying donkeys and mountains of shite. :-)
