The Malta game will be a nail-biter, almost as good as Gibraltar-France and San Marino-Kazakhstan. Denmark? Northern Ireland. Could be a good game.

Yeah, quarter-final and final of the world cup and the euros - sooo tedious.

    Should've stood by Big Sam.

    Semi-final of the world cup.

I'm still giggling about the 2nd half. Dill was searching for flights to Moscow at half time.

Big Sam would have been brilliant fun - and there's time to bring him back because he's still at his peak...

Not winning the Euros against a very average Italian team was and is awful. Croatia are just better than us (shows how great our PL English players are for their $$$); France would have pasted us in the final anyways. Did well against (a much weakened) France except for a ten minute spell when they all seemed scared to go on and win the game, during which time the two centre halves decided to switch off and panic like headless chickens, especially when France had a free kick (no need to mark their top scorer...). The Argies would have pasted us in the final anyways.

I didn't say he'd done badly, he's done just fine. But, he has bored me, just like you do. Now, go and practice your reading, you have an under 5s class this afternoon...

Remember the English excuse 20 years ago.

None of the players are playing in foreign leagues so they don't get experience of playing against foreign styles of play.

To be replaced a few years later with.

Too many of the players are playing in foreign leagues, so they don't get enough time playing with their international teammates or in an English style team.

The only time we had a lot of England players playing in a foreign league, it was for Rangers during the Euro ban.

Remember Ian Rush at Juve: " It was like living in a foreign country".

This is good news. Absolutely delighted.

Leighton Clarkson agrees transfer from Liverpool to Aberdeen

The young midfielder has returned to Pittodrie after a successful loan spell.

Clarkson became a popular player as he helped Aberdeen to third place in the Premiership.Robson wants Aberdeen to kick on next season after securing third place

Leighton Clarkson has agreed a deal to join Aberdeen from Liverpool after he impressed on loan last season, STV understands.

The 21-year-old midfielder played 38 games for the Dons last season as they overcame a poor start to the season to secure third place in the Premiership and guarantee group stage football in Europe.

He was named as the club’s Young Player of the Year and scored six goals, making nine assists, in all competitions.

That put him firmly in manager Barry Robson’s plans and the club have now secured a permanent deal after agreeing an undisclosed fee with the Premier League giants.
Clarkson came through Liverpool’s youth academy and made his debut in a 5-0 EFL Cup win over Aston Villa in 2019.

He went on to make two more appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side, playing in the FA Cup and also starting a Champions League game away at Midtjylland.
A loan spell at Blackburn Rovers followed and Clarkson then moved to Aberdeen on loan in August 2022.
    Lang may yer lum reek...

Spain 2-1 Italy: Joselu strikes late to set up Nations League final against Croatia

Report as substitute Joselu's last-gasp strike secured Spain a 2-1 victory to set up a Nations League final against Croatia on Sunday (kick-off 7.45pm); Italy will face Netherlands in a third-place play-off, also on Sunday (kick-off 2pm)

Good game on Sunday evening, 8pm Thai time.

Holland v Italy in the 3rd place NL play-off.

Will grab the highlights of the Croatia v Spain final after me Sunday night beauty sleep.

    1:45am KO Thai time.

Haven't checked which TV channels will be showing them. BeIn? BT Sports?

I'm happy because he is not quite good enough for Liverpool and far too good for Aberdeen and we've just beat Rangers, Celtic and a host of English clubs to his signature, on a 4 year contract.

6 goals and 9 assists during his loan spell with us last season. And every goal was an absolute worldy.

    Getting ready for Europe.

No idea what closet mickey mouse means.

Yes we will further develop this youngster and make huge bank off him, but we don't know details of his contract yet. I'd imagine Liverpool would have a buy back clause and/or sell on percentage.
