What is the state of Retallick's injury? It'd be a big blow to their WC chances if he doesn't play (imho, he is more important to them than any other 2 players combined although Scott Barrett is very good as a replacement second row).

Last I heard is that big Brodie's injury may be not as serious as most shoulder dislocations go and he may be ready for the quarterfinals.
Yeah he is rated to go to the WC apparently. Not ideal but as said he's very important to the team.
Apparently, he will be OK in 6 weeks. just a straight dislocation.Without "lerch" , it will be a big blow.
In my opinion, they wanted Scot Barrett at number 6 for when they played the teams with the big fuckers. Not now sure if they have that luxury, now. They will probably take Tony Tuipulotu as well.
I watched Auckland play North Harbour last night. Big Karl karl tu'inukuafe, played for Harbour. He looked slow and unfit.Mind you, the man has been very ill, so here is hoping that he will be good to go...if he's picked. We need the big man.
Even if he is back for the quarter final, he may not be match fit, and may pick up another injury easily. This is a big blow for NZ; after their great run following the last WC, the first time they looked beatable was against Ireland in the states when the second row was rather depleted...
IMHO, NZ are weak at centre, they have never replaced Smith/Nononononou, and if they don't have Whitlock at his best and Retallick out then they are gonna struggle to retain the title - still the best team in the world, but beatable by 3 or 4 other teams. &, they need to sort out who is at 10 and keep him there, who is at 15 and keep him there - the time of judgement is nigh!![]()
Cycling should be banned!!!
Interesting article on the BBC sport website about some proposed rule changes but wont let me copy the link. Bringing tackle height down to waist high, yellow card when a team reaches a certain amount of penalties in a game, when the ball is held up over the line the defending team gets a goal line drop out instead of the attacking team getting a 5m scrum and 50/22 kicks as in if you kick from your own half into touch undirecting into the opposition 22 you get the throw at the lineout idea being it will force the wingers to sit deeper giving more attacking opportunities.
Indirectly not undirecting that should read.
All Blacks getting the hiding of a lifetime v Wallabies, 26-40 with 5 to go... behind from about the 3rd minute and last 45 min with 14 men after Scott Barrett red carded
Who have expected that?
Even if the Wallabies had lost that, the Aussies would be proud.
Nice to see them playing with such confidence.
As I type, Beale has just crossed the chalk.

Oh, about the link to watch, I had 4 to choose from but none of them connected, so apologies for that.

Eden Park next week

47 - 26 ... Aussies highest ever score against the All Blacks.
Jeez, my Cantabs go down to Waikato 31-28 and the All Blacks get pummeled 47-26. I'm off to drown my disappointment.

^ next week.... Barrett will be suspended, Retallick still injured leaves Tuipolutu and... someone... as locks, Goodhue injured and Williams will play as he's managed 3 x 80min games for Counties without injury
Wallabies will be confident, best chance at winning the Bledisloe Cup in 15yrs
And Wales may hold that #1ranking, named a full strength side vs England who have 5 new caps in their 23
And rightly so.

Good week for the Aussies.
Smashed the unwashed Poms in the cricket and then gave the South Pacific Poms a hiding in the rugby.![]()
One step at a time, LT.
but certainly bodes well for the upcoming WC.
Fkn French refs, it’s like they’re obligated to be dicks.![]()
