Not an easy 6 Nations to call this year, yesterdays result confuses things even more.

Before yesterday, France with a lot of new talent were being lauded to go far. At half time thomas castaignede their old Fly Half was talking a French renaissance ....didn't last long

Ireland are the obvious favourites based upon their recent performances and against southern hemisphere sides too, i can't see past them really.

The others, Eng, Scot & Wales all going through some transition and you never know what you are going to get a la Wales yesterday - Eng could be the dark horses as you'd never write the off and if just depends if the Ozzie-Jap Midget can get them to understand him...

Italy bless em will finish bottom but they have their moments - and fuk Gerry Guscot who once said they don't deserve to be in the 6 nations - you have to play the best to improve, albeit a long time in the making but if you love rugger then whats wrong with encouraging new teams to enter and they try to run the ball which is always good to watch.

The backdrop though with the RWC 2019 in Sept in Japan adds a new dimension to the tournament as the teams will be wanting to blood new talent and get a relatively settled idea of who their best c20 players are.

Not so much Wales winning as France throwing the game away. France looked very good in the first half and need to keep discipline for the whole game

England will be looking to peak for the world cup in September so may not perform. Ireland will be difficult to beat. It'll be between these two again.

I agree to a point but the 1st half performance by Wales was the worst i'd seen in years, not helped by the weather - too many handling errors - don't think you'll you see that again this tournament.

Who are you rooting for Troy?

Arrived at the Holiday Inn next to Edinburgh zoo, let me check in early. Drive was ok snow in North England but next to none in Scotland so I foolishly pulled of the 74 and onto the A701, hadn't taken that road before, hadn't been gritted and started to snow so was a bit hairy for a few miles. Anyway food required then a trek down to Murrayfield when the misses gets out the bathroom.

And beer.....anyhow you've answered my question i didn't ask "Are you going up and back the same day". Hope you have a good time and i'm sure you'll get a good result.

Your Mrs must be acclimatised to sit out in these temps for a few hours - taking a flask? my Mrs would want a heated suit...

I'm hoping England bring in a few different players in key positions and still manage to win all their games.

Seats were just outside 5m line, convincing win apart from last 10 minutes when game was already won.

England win 32 20. Late consolation try for the Micks. Eddie Jones is a bluffing cunter, but I still love the convict to bits.

As I could only follow the text, can anyone confirm that England played with 2.5 full backs?

England certainly defended well. A much better performance than I expected. Good start, let's hope they can prove themselves in every game.

Bad result for Scotland that as had Ireland won easily they would have been relaxed for next week thinking an easy game against Scotland now they have to go all out as lose and 6N over for the Micks.
