Rox or Sox? Who will win?

I guess there's probably less than a handful (maybe fewer) people on this board that care about the World Series, but it kicks off Weds. night in Boston. Colorado Rockies vs. Boston Red Sox. David vs. Goliath.

I like David in 7 games. They match up well. Two great offenses. Sox pitching probably better.

I go for the Red Sox but Wakefield will not pitch in the series and who knows which Kurt Schilling will show up

Momentum appears to be with the Rockies, they've had a long break tho since the NLCS.
Don't mind admitting the Baseball has become quite addictive.
The ticket prices are quite astounding, starting at $650 for an average seat.

I wonder what it's like to earn $70 million over 5 years for hitting a ball 3 times out of every 10 attempts

    Rockies' time has come
Ready to play, stop answering questions about long layoff

    By Dave van Dyck

BOSTON -- It has been a long time since any team has waited longer than the Colorado Rockies between their last game and the beginning of the World Series.

A very long time. It was so long ago that the Cubs were the powerhouse of the National League.

Rockies' time has come on ChicagoSports.com

^ You da Man!! Go Todd Helton. Too bad the original Blake St. Bombers of Galaraga, Vinnie Castillo, Bichette, and the great Larry Walker aren't here to see this.

It's only just begun. The Sox overcame their slump against the Indians and are now on a roll!!

Well the Rox performed better just now, but still lost 2-1. It's back to Coors field for the Saturday game. Hope to see some wins there.

Much better game today. Love those pitching duels. Sox bullpen did a great job. Hope the home field will get the Rockies in the win column. Not a strong fan of either team I would like nothing better than watching game 7 at Fenway!!

You've gotta like that Youkalikis a lot.
Feel a little sorry for Colorado, hope they win 3 in a row and make a game of it at Fenway.

Time to let this go. Sox on their way to another one. I guess the God of baseball is making up bigtime to the long-suffering Boston beans after so many years of torture - they get 2 within a few years.

Halliday is the only guy who has stepped up, despite messing up on 1st base previously. He missed a 3 run homer narrowly in the 8th.

I expected the Sox would win the series but not this easily. The AL is much stronger than the NL this year so guess we should not be surprised. Well as Yogi said, it ain't over until the fat lady sings.

That's true. The lack of parity reminds me of the NFL eras of AFC vs. NFC dominance.

Probably whole team psych. Young franchise. First World Series. Young players. High expectations. A lot of pressure against a team with the history of the Red Sox.

These thoughts have been rolling around in my head also. Use to hate the Vince Lombardi teams...

Saw my first color TV program with the Packers.

Regardless, the Yankees vs. Boston would have been a better match.

Yeah me too. Lombardi and his boys were too damn good so was hard to love them unless you were a cheese head. Was a dyed in the wool Oakland Raiders fan myself.

Former season ticket holder of Elway's team. But the hatred of the Raiders goes back to Stabler and the boys!

The bad boys of the NFL. Had dinner once with Stabler. Man can that guy drink. Some great games between Broncos, Raiders and Chiefs though. Can understand hatred fro Stabler. I think it was universal (except in Oakland). Remember Stabler's "fumble" against the Chargers in 1978? Last play of the game, Chargers ahead 24 - 14. Stabler fumbles the ball forward about 10 yards, Pete Banasak bats it forward to the goal line then Dave Casper kicks it in the end zone and falls on it for the tying touchdown. The point after gives the Raiders the win. Stabler freely admits he fumbled on purpose! Sneaky, sneaky!!

^ the Snake was a bad boy. Some great teams though and gotta love Madden. Al Davis is a different story. I don't know how fans can ever forgive him for jerking them down to LA and back.
