Sure did, the semi finals and final were pretty amazing games. Shame it had be decided by a count back rather than on the field.

    Possible Playing 11

Moeen Ali was dropped from England’s squad for the second Test after a tough outing at Edgbaston. Jack Leach (for Moeen) and Jofra Archer (for James Anderson) are set to come in.
England: 1. Rory Burns, 2. Jason Roy, 3. Joe Root (c), 4. Joe Denly, 5. Ben Stokes, 6. Jos Buttler, 7. Jonny Bairstow (wk), 8. Chris Woakes, 9. Jofra Archer, 10. Stuart Broad, 11. Jack Leach
Australia have named their 12-man squad for the second Test. James Pattinson has been rested, so at least one of Mitchell Starc or Josh Hazlewood will play. It could be Hazlewood, given he had a good Lord’s Test in 2015.
Australia: 1. David Warner, 2. Cameron Bancroft, 3. Usman Khawaja, 4. Steve Smith, 5. Travis Head, 6. Matthew Wade, 7. Tim Paine (c & wk), 8. Pat Cummins, 9. Mitchell Starc/Josh Hazlewood, 10. Peter Siddle, 11. Nathan Lyon

Assuming there are no rained out days, there being only 3 days between the end of Test #2 and the beginning of Test #3 so I reckon they will rest Mitchell Starc and James Pattinson to head up their attack for the third test.

    IMHO

Apparently Jack Leach will be the key to getting Smith out.

    Let's see how that goes...

Weather looks good for us, we may manage a draw from this test if we're lucky.

Just starting to roll the covers off now.

    Toss yet to come.

'It's going to rain for most of the day'

This from BBC Weather - it's not going to make us any more optimistic for actual cricket being played:

"We've had some heavy rain and that has now cleared to the east. We've got a little window of a few drier spells, but behind it there is more rain. It's going to rain for most of the day."

    Update

    3:23pmAbsolutely chucking it down now

I don't see there being any cricket today.
Even when the rain stops it will be an hour before play could start

    Nah ... that's Scotland.

England has 4 days, one of which is blistering and over 30C for which everyone if diving in fountains and shirtless in Hyde Park.

Then it drizzles for near on a week.

After that there are 2 days when the Sun shines brilliantly again and the/you Poms believe that Summer is back again only
to go to bed on the night of the second day and awake to drizzle again.

And it's remains in that miserable mode until the Sun starts to set not long after it rises and it's dark at 3pm.

It's those two extra days of sunshine you get that differentiates England from Scotland.

Those 2 days are what gives England hope that this year will be different. Scotland knows there is no hope

    The BBC prophecy held true.

I tried keeping the faith and at every pitch inspection I brewed the kettle and made another coffee but, alas
even I eventually succumb to the harsh reality that, like when Aunt Flo visits ... there indeed would be no play today.

its memories like that will have me homesick and sobbing for four seasons in one day in a few years. Although with all the fuking about with visa, regs and whims i may just do summer in the UK (5 days) and 170 days in France (If the UK are not classed as crims post Brexit and i lose me house there) with 3 month Thailand and the rest begging in Siem Reap or go funding me in Vietnam.

Drizzle is what does your head in when you're back in the UK. That and the 70 mile an hour winds in March.

At least you can play cricket in the wind though. ;-)

Yes, because edging a ball that's blowing all over the place is good fun.
