Can't help thinking that England will fall 50-75 runs below where they should be.....

If we could make 400 we'd be in with a good shout (although anything is possible with England). That will likely require Broad to step up and do a job in the morning with the bat though, so expect us to lose the remaining wickets for 13 runs.

What places are showing it in Bangkok around Silom or Sukhumvit?

I think England are slightly ahead after the first day. They scored more runs than I expected them to, however now they are into the tail and it'll be interesting to see how long they last.

The top 3 most stressful life events as rated by Americans:
    1. Death
    2. Divorce
    3. Moving
I know you are not American, but yeah - it's a stressful thing. Surely in indo you get 'the help' to take care of most of the physical stuff though?

Yes - we are paying dearly for dropping Root. It was a bad day in the office for all of our quicks though they still managed to produce a few gems on a pancake. 400 is the norm on the 1st innings in Cardiff so hard day to call really ...

Actually a great start to this Ashes series.

Yes, catching Root may have changed the day but evenly poised at the moment.

I predict a draw though on this flat Taff wicket.

Don't matter. We bowl as a team ya see. Root got an inside edge off Johnson that could have very easily hit the stumps, but that's the way it goes. Don't be surprised if he tears the top order apart next innings. It wouldn't be the first time. He is bowling quick and straight and that's what matters.

Well apart from the wayward stuff wide outside leg stump and the stuff that was dispatched to the boundary from way outside off stump.

And next is Lords, the home of cricket that drove him to such desperation last time.

He shows no nouse on wickets that lack pace - that's what matters, along with 0-87. He served up some right pies yesterday.

You lot seem to have toned down the rhetoric considerably this morning.

Take this one then.... "He's the bowling equivalent of Graeme Hick"

Hazlewood and Starc are both far better equipped mentally.....

thanks to Hazlewood we will be 50-75 runs short in this first innings.....
