He certainly has been solid in the slips. However, he is supposed to be a batsmen....

If they score 20 in the morning session for no loss, I'd be happy.

    Won't happen though.

England needs 203 runs to win with seven wickets in hand

Suddenly the once-unthinkable no longer seems so impossible.

England has dug in and fought might impressively here, giving itself a chance to pull off something remarkable on day four.

    Joe Root
has been leading the charge, defying his apparent lack of form to move within touching distance of a potentially famous century.
Alongside Ben Stokes, it feels like the pivotal partnership is in action right here and now.

That means the first hour or so tomorrow is going to be just massive.
There is nothing but history - and maybe the excellence of Josh Hazlewood - to suggest England can't pull this off, but there is still so much cricket to be played.

Poms will fall 50 to 80 runs short. One more wicket and into the tail.

You still have to at least win 1 more and draw the last, provided you win this one. But I love your optimism

^You've missed the subtle barb in this, and would need to go back to the last WC soccer thread when some posters from a certain country currently caught up in Brexit thought they were a big chance of winning it. #itscominghome was their catch cry, for a while anyway .

Talk about an emotional roller-coaster, it went something like this:

I presume anal is a metaphor for Australia?

&, football is never coming home - I hate that song and those two wank 'comedians', can't stand either of them.

The cricket has been dire from our end. This match is perfectly winnable, but as other folks have mentioned, we'll lose an early wicket or two and the match will probably be over before lunch.

Well sure it is. England have never chased down a 2nd Innings score that big before, but let's keep a stiff upper lip and not upset Matron
