Argentina have the best strike force. And it's on South American turf.

    Them or Brazil I reckon.

^ Agree, the toughest on paper but also group B and E are not easy at all.

With the backdoor qualifying French having the easiest ride of all.

Not down to them having high up influential people in football at all of course...

Hang on, are you saying Ecuador, Switzerland and Honduras are difficult opponents for the French?

    Seriously?

You must mean groups B and G, surely?

I'm expecting a couple of least known and unpredictable sides to win their way out of group play.....I believe that a developing parity has grown over the last few cups throughout the football world.

Best, that the traditional powers not see themselves too highly or it will come back to bite them in the arse.

    My apologies - yes - B and G was what I meant.

Agree with that - both Chile and Belgium should not be understimated.

    So Argentina is looking strong?

How about England. I've always been interested in how England has most of the top players, but they don't gel as a team in the World Cup.

How are England's prospects looking this year?

    Spain?

    Portugal?

Well right there you've excluded most of the "top players".

    Is barbaro snaff?

Has his 'not really interested but want a century thread' tone about it.

In 2010, I think England had a lot of the top players, or players that were considered the top echelon.

I stand to be corrected, and yes there are a lot of great players from other countries of course.

He knows he's talking shite, you can't correct him if he doesn't tell you who he thinks is a "top player".

They were all a load of bollocks.

Because he never asked. It was 2010. We be in 2014, now.

But some of the names were big.

I remember a lot of British saying they were good: Rooney, Gerard, the tall skinny guy who danced like a robot, and some others.
