What did you think of last night's show.

another lunk exposed as a pussy.

I'd have got out of that guillotine pretty comfortably I reckon.

Well guys, we'll never see a Couture-Fedor fight or see Fedor in the UFC. Fedor signed with Russian M-1, and Couture retired out of protest.

DAVIE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) Spokesperson Crawford Grimsley announced today, “The CFC will put up a $3,000,000 purse to bring the Couture vs Emelianenko fight to Pay-Per-View. $1,000,000 will be guaranteed to each fighter while the winner takes home an additional cool million, making this the largest single purse for any one MMA fight.” Grimsley, a former heavyweight boxer who went 12 rounds with big George Foreman for the world title in 1996 said, “I don’t know who set up the current MMA system of sanctioning bodies locking fighters into exclusive long term contracts. I do know who is out to change this system though, we are, the CFC. We are not going to try to reinvent the wheel, but we would like to add a little of the business model that professional boxing has adopted for decades. Can you imagine if professional boxing would not allow champion to fight champion. How many great boxing matches would we have missed?” Grimsley added, “The UFC has made this sport into what it is today and my hat is off to them, but in the same regard, we feel the sport must allow the best from any league to fight each other when the time is right. We are willing to sit down with any and all parties necessary to make this fight happen including the UFC, Randy Couture, the Gersh Agency, Fedor Emelianenko, his manager Vadim Finkelstein and M-1. It happens everyday in boxing. That’s how you get an undisputed champion. This exclusivity only hurts the sport, the fans, the fighters and the amount of money a fighter can make. We are going to do everything we can to bring this fight and many others currently prohibited. It’s time for the MMA to change for the benefit of the fighters and fans, not the sanctioning bodies.” New MMA Organization Cage Fighting Championships, Inc. Hopefully that will get these two dorks off their butts to see who rules. Fedor is probably prohibited by his new contract though.

For those of you in Thailand having trouble getting MMA, there has been a new channel on TVU called MMA-TV (Fight-TV.net) and they show 24/7 MMA, seems like mostly King of the Cage.

If you don't know what TVU is, it's a player where you can watch pirated TV signals such as CBS in the US, FOX, and other world channels, though mostly Chinese stuff. There is a movie channel from Taiwan that sometimes has good movies.

    download the player at viidoo.com

I'm betting the chances are very good, and wouldn't surprise me to see a bidding match with UFC winning it for a one-off Las Vegas mega event, maybe adding in another top card. Have to admit I'd pay good money to see that, but wouldn't get to see it until later in Thailand.

i don't think the UFC could get it. Couture has basically fucked Dana off....

i hope we get a new global MMA organisation to rival the UFC soon..that would be the best outcome of all imo

^ Well Pride was still the best IMO. I would like to see a ring format again and toss away that bloody cage. I also liked Pride's rules better and the matches were exciting productions. After watching a lot of that King of the Cage, those guys really seem like amateurs, getting choked out and submitted on simple techniques and only going two rounds.

the japs had it sorted with Pride. i dearly hope they can get it together to revamp the MMA game there....you seen K1 Heroes? pretty good stuff but they need to split it away and pump more money in to get it back to the Pride standard

Fedor Draws Choi for New Year's Eve Bout
    Tuesday, November 20, 2007
    by Greg Savage (greg@sherdog.com)

Fedor Emelianenko (Pictures) will fight Hong Man Choi (Pictures) on New Year's Eve in Japan, a source close to the negotiations told Sherdog.com.

Emelianenko (26-1-0), whose most recent bout was a win over Matt Lindland (Pictures) in April, will be fighting for the first time since inking a non-exclusive promotional deal with M-1 Global.

The fight marks Choi's return to MMA for the first time since defeating Bobby Olgun in just 16 seconds at K-1 Dynamite 2006. The 27-year-old Korean, 1-0-0, was denied a license to fight in California in June due to irregularities in his pre-fight medical tests.

At 7-foot-2-inches tall and more than 350 pounds, Choi will have substantial height and weight advantages over the Russian.

Emelianenko, 31, stands 6-foot and weighs in around 230 pounds.

The promoter of the Emelianenko-Choi fight has not been confirmed.

    A 7'-2", 350lb Korean?

Skin me alive and call me luggage!

As a lad, he probably had to fight for more kimchee. A lot more.
