England have no chance of winning this, so the odds are irrelevant.

Sure we have a good chance, don't forget we've already won it once. You can't fool me, I know you're after better odds but I'm not going higher than 45/1.

    ...

Keep going Leemo, 'Arry will be along shortly to take up on those odds; being a Gooner, he has great optimism...

Sod off, you can get 66/1 and that's optimistic.

Not optimistic at all, it's grand larceny. I wouldn't go above 50.

I had some bloke once bet me Bt200,000 at 16-1 that the US would win the World Cup in Korea/Japan.

Well I must admit it was squeaky bum time when they qualified after beating Portugal, and then beat Mexico, but the squareheads saved the day.

(But obviously this wasn't in Thailand, that would have been illegal).

    Bad omen for England?
    World Cup song is dropped

    http://www.channel4.com/news/england...low-axed-video

I've got a better idea drop the whole multi-racial multi-scared shitless team
and save us from 3 embarrassing games- one for each 'lion'

Is that the best song we can come up with ,,,,
the team will be just as bad ,

Gary Barlow , poor singer indeed but still a class above the Ingerland team

This extract from The Telegraph following Italy's scoreless game against Ireland sums things up quite well, I think.

Roy Hodgson was here and will have drawn some encouragement from how vulnerable Italy were to pace and how open they played. The powerful running of Shane Long and Anthony Pilkington caused them constant problems with some panicky challenges going unpunished because of the friendly status of the match. Long’s aggression was also a problem for Italy’s central defenders, who are not quick, and certainly Hodgson will feel his team can get at the heart of their defence.
Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu may play for Paris Saint-Germain but he is no Gianluigi Buffon and made some unconvincing saves although he did well to block, unconventionally, from Long’s header.
Also as talented as Verratti is he can take unnecessary risks as evidenced when he passed across the Italian penalty area to Thiago Motta only for an opportunity to eventually be fashioned for Ireland.
The problem for England will be in the humidity of Manaus will pace and pressing be a possibility. If they can achieve it then they can certainly unsettle Italy.

Will all World Cup games be carried on live TV in Thailand? My understanding, as of now, is that the local holder of broadcast rights in Thailand (RS) will broadcast 22 games on free TV (channel 7) and the rest will be pay for view, even though the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has a rule that all games must be aired on free TV. This was as of Jan. 7: RS appeals for World Cup 'deal' for Thai broadcasting rights

At least 22 games (out of 64) will be broadcast on free TV (channel 7), with the rest on pay TV. There is a rule in Thailand that all games must be aired for free but the broadcaster (RS) has appealed this ruling. Don't know the outcome.

here we go another England game in 30 mins

    England v Ecuador

Should be good , Wayne Rooney appears to be playing a a winger on the left ....that a great idea !!
hang on , I thought you had players with lots of pace out there ?
might be good for a laugh if he gets flustered over there

oh well, England never gave me nothing while Ecuador gave me plenty of nice bananas
    so
    COME ON ECUADOR

Hahaha what a laugh 1-0 down already.

I've seen better defending on hackney Marshes.

    Ends 2-2

England are 25-1 to win world cup
    Ecuador are 125 -1

one of those odds is wrong - England should be 125 also

Could we brush them aside with a smile ?
no way , we even had a player sent off for a nasty vicious high speed 2 footed tackle - what an embarrassment.

Thought we played ok. I was however distracted somewhat by the heaving bosom of the delectable Edna ^^ up there somewhere, for the duration.
