Lots of fighters take shots below the belt and continue it is pretty common. The fact is that he was getting pummeled and completely out boxed. He was just looking for an excuse and he got it.

He got beat by a very good fighter in Estrada. Their first fight (that SSR won) was a narrow points victory only, and a few pundits "Fight of the Year 2018".

What baffled me was why SSR elected to box orthodox from his normal Southpaw stance..? He won every round boxing Southpaw. Unfortunately, those rounds were the last 3 at the end of the fight..
