^Absolute cracker of a fight at 140lbs between Hooker and Ramirez yesterday. Six rounds of great action, and a superb showcase for the 140lb division in that the top 2 guys at Light Welterweight got to fight each other. Unusual, these days.

They certainly won't now. Whyte failed a drug test before the Rivas fight..
https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/5...te-result-wbc/Oscar Rivas’ team want the result of their man’s fight with Dillian Whyte to be overturned.
Whyte reportedly tested positive for a banned substance in the days before their bout at the O2.
Rivas lost his unbeaten record at the hands of the British fighter and the chance to be the mandatory challenger for the WBC title.
Prolly not publicized over there but there was one hell of a heavyweight fight in NYC last night. Adam Kownacki and Chris Arreola banged away at each other for 12 rounds and set a new compubox record for most punches thrown in a heavyweight bout. Amazing fight.
I think people on the forum have sussed this out over the years there Arry....
Damn this thread has really been neglected. Kovalev and Yarde really had a banger.....
Lomachenko-Campbell next week. Probably only one winner but you never know.
Yep, that was a humdinger of a fight. Yarde should have put Kovalev away in the 8th-9th round, had him hurt and reeling but was gassed himself. Kovalev got behind his jab again in the 9th and actually stopped Yarde with it.
Bernard Hopkins said that Kovalev's jab is a 'power punch', after they fought. Krusher looks a bit faded now at 36yo, and with rumours of heavy-drinking and poor discipline from former trainers, he is probably gunning for a maybe final lucrative LH contest with Canelo Alvarez (supposedly in the making).
^Loma v Campbell pitches two former Olympic Gold medal winners against each other. Campbell is much taller and has longer reach against Loma, but the Ukrainian is so brilliantly technically-adept that he'll have about 5 game plans to counter this 'advantage'. Wait and see.
This weekend (Saturday, 4 p.m. ET on ESPN+, undercard 1 p.m ET) sees most pundit's P4P #1 Vasyl Lomachenko trying to unify the Lightweight Divn's (Loma holds the WBO; WBA straps) major titles at 135lbs. He is fighting UK's Luke Campbell for the WBC version.
Campbell is the bigger, taller guy in this contest and has a great skill set (former Olympic Gold medal holder, same as Loma), and pop in his punches, but is the underdog against probably boxing's best fighter right now. It will be intriguing to find out if and how Lomachenko gets inside Campbells much longer reach.. Might even be a a difficult task for the Ukrainian, but I'm picking him for a late stoppage of the home fighter Luke Campbell.
The fight is in the UK, Campbell's backyard, so take note of the time if you want to watch it live. (6PM UK time: GMT+7 hours Thai time).
