E01 of 'The First Team'.
Christ, that was painfully unfunny.
The guy playing the assistant manager does a carbon copy of David Brent. So close that it actually takes some skill.
Shame he has absolutely zero funny lines.
There was one smile when the kitman turns out to be the singer from 'Sleaford Mods'.
Apart from that, well, there's shitting, foreskins and testicles for a larf.
Fnaar Fnaar.
Eh?
Eh?

Lincoln Lawyer popped up on Netflix yesterday, so I took a gander. Lawyer who usually represents low life guilty clients suddenly acquires a wealthy one accused of rape and assault. Was a quite good who done it with plenty of plot twists and turns. Matthew Maconaughey (sp.) and Marisa Tomei (one of my favorites)
I've watched the odd porno or two, but have never seen an egg shaped gash-basher.
The Last Days of American Crime (Netflix)
Sometimes Netflix just appear with some really brilliant stuff.
This isn't it though, it's complete shit.
2/10

"Special Ops Sniper Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) is set up as the primary suspect for the murder of a foreign dignitary on the eve of signing a high-profile trade agreement with the United States. Narrowly escaping death, Beckett realizes that there may be a dark operative working within the government and partners with the only person whom he can trust, his father legendary Sniper Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger). Both Becketts are on the run from the CIA, Russian Mercenaries, and a Yakuza-trained assassin with sniper skills that rival both legendary sharp shooters"

Well put together plot and action.
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
You can always count on Hoohoo to dredge up some crap, this time the last wringings of blood out of the stone of what started out as a reasonable film (Sniper) 27 years ago, but has now resorted to churning out straight-to-video crap because Tom Berenger works cheap these days.
Can tell it's utter shite without even looking at a trailer.

Just watched "King Rat" again. (1965). A very underrated WW2 prison camp movie. IMDB 7.5. Excellent performances. Based on a novel by James Clavell and based in part on Clavell's time in Changi Prison. Black and white, which I thought added to the film.

This looks promising enough.
Though one does feel that they give a bit too much of the movie away in trailers nowadays.
Weird one that. Tom Hanks wrote the script. It was due for release in March, then May, then June, then it must have been burning the owners fingers because they sold it to Apple and they haven't announced a date yet.
EZTV (eztv.io) just posted up a documentary series, "Inside The SS". First 3 out 0f ?? are up. Not bad if WW2 interests you.
Looks to be only 3 episodes.

Looks like it's a Nat Geo thing, can watch with a VPN or if based in the US.

Downloading them now cheers
Thanks to whoever recommended 'Fauda'.
I just finished S01.
Pretty good I reckon, especially considering the obviously miniscule budget.
Here's a trailer for season 2 to give an idea...it looks like the budget went up a little.
i finally watched the ITV miniseries, "quiz".
a decidedly british series, but still enjoyable for a non brit.
to the best of my recollection, i was never aware of the scandal.
only 3 episodes and worth a watch......final answer.
^ Its not as though you can 'phone a friend', you kunt
Spotlight few years old but lots of drama.
Drama about the Boston Globe's unearthing of a massive paedophilia scandal within the Massachusetts Catholic Archdiocese.
Da 5 Bloods
A new Spike Lee movie out on Netflix, just at the right time
It cut out with half hour left to go on my tv box so can't really judge it.
About some brothers in the Vietnam war, who discover a chest of gold bullion, they then return decades later and find the chest but its corroded away and all the bars are buried on the hill. They manage to dig all the bars up on the hill without any landmines going off. Landmines do go off later though.
Loads of black propaganda and tips of the hat to Jesse Owens. Malcolm X, black war heroes and other famous black people and the fact 33% of GI's were black when they were only 11% of the population and Geoerge Washington owning 130 slaves and Dr Martin Luther King dieing whilst they were serving
Starts off with Muhammad Ali using the N word
Feels like it's been rushed out or needs editing. Its 155 minutes long.
Just what America and the World needs right now.I foresee a few more statues coming down.
Gets mixed reviews on imdb, you'll either love it or hate it. I thought it was pretty good from what I've watched. Gotta go find another copy with the ending now.

I watched about half an hour of it last night.
4 loud, black Americans wise crackin' about the old days, acting about half their age and high fivin' every five seconds
Cringeworthy.
Spike Lee has made one good film in his life and that was brilliant - Malcolm X.
It's such a shame that his obvious talent has resulted in so many other utter turkeys.
