If they did they're either a chick, gay or they need a good slap.

I don't know if anyone has given it any praise yet, but COSMOS is freaking brilliant, and I'd recommend the 720p downloads any day.

    7/13 broadcast so far.

Thought the railway man was very good. Reminded me of my first trip to Kanchanaburi a few years ago. We were in a car going to a concert there with two Japs who we used to hang around with. They were talking non stop until I asked if we would be going to see the bridge, they stopped talking immediately and said nothing for the next half hour, seems memories of the war still run deep with them, they did not go to the bridge.

Jeez, have you slept in a cave for ten years? And never seen that film?

Back on topic - Railway Man was great. A wee tear did exit my eye.

Man with Bag - Great, with John Cusack and Robert de Niro.

Thought cosmos was junk (Fox) but I only got through 10 mins of annoying music competing with the narator, why do they do this?

Just watched "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", another classic Bogart oldie. About to start "Cross of Iron", with James Coburn - directed by Sam Peckinpah - probably one of the best, and most underrated WW2 movies ever made.

If it's enabled you to avoid watching shite bird's movies like 'how to lose a date...' then you should ask to get the stone rolled back into place.

Just had my movie nights for the month.

    The Purge (Ethan Hawke)

Dystopian USA ends unemployment and crime by allowing a yearly 12 hour no law free for all. Pretty silly premise to package what is basically a home invasion flick.

    Watchable.

    The Lone Survivor (Marky Mark)

Taliban chase down Seal unit. Lots of improbable behaviour from in a movie based on a true account.

    Watchable.

    47 Ronin (Keanu Reeves)

Hollywood fuckup of an epic Japanese historical event.
It's equivalent would be to make a movie of Nelson at Trafalgar and throwing Sea Monsters, Magic and Mermaids.
Totally uncalled for, but wouldn't sell to the US otherwise.

Watchable (if you forget the history)

    300 Rise of an Empire.

    Prequal/Sequal to 300.

    Same style same homoerotic bloodfest.

Didn't like the story at all. They butchered the nature of the naval battles against Darius, they should have stuck with the land war.

    Watchable if you like gore.

    I've seen better.

I was annoyed because the copy had hardcoded chink subs.

I'll watch it again tonight to make sure I don't like it.

More like pandering to those who cannot concentrate without constant sound effects and music. Don't think Kenneth Clarke used endless music over speech when he made civilisation, but that was in a less dumbed down era. I switch off any documentary if there's music over the narration, annoying and pointless.

To be honest I never really paid much attention to the extras. I just think she's extremely attractive.

Jaysus man, the baps are "extras", unless you are only interested in the old pearl necklace. And let's face it, without the warpaint she's no oil painting.

And you know what they say about girls and their mothers....
