^ It's a David Attenborough series, so of course it's worth downloading.
Unless you like stuff from Discovery & Nat Geo which is aimed at brain-dead Merkins.

I've been watching 'Californication'. Pleasantly surprised with it, really quite good actually.
The Box (Cameron Diaz). Set in the 70s, filmed like a Polanski, and the most confusing pile of shit I've seen in a long time. The basic premise starts off OK, but then it wanders off aimlessly into "how the fuck do we finish this story?" land with some aimless plot lines and special effects, before it finds a completely crap way to sort of dribble off to an ending.
Don't waste your time. She doesn't even get her tits out, which might have made it worth hanging on for.
Just downloaded the first 4 of a new beeb 6 parter called "Paradox" which is supposed to be quite good.
(Sci Fi).
Just finished watching a BBC documentary series
"The Death of Yugoslavia"
It's a well researched step by step analysis of the breakup of Yugoslavia. Amazingly they have interspersed interviews with most of the main actors, some of whom are now dead, Tudjman, Milosovic. Those they couldn't interview such as Mladic and Karadic feature in a lot of newsreel extracts. An invaluable historical record.
The Day of The Triffids (2009) BBC
First episode has just been to air. Stars Dougray Scott. I downloaded and watched out of curiosity as I was expecting a Dr Who style low budget show with cardboard props. Instead it has the feel of a good sci fi movie with lots of location shots and a good storyline.

I watched both parts of Day of the Triffids the other night, and while it started well, it finished very, very poorly.
Come on people, you can only rehash stuff so many times before the resulting bubble and squeak is bland and uninteresting.
Try Paradox. 5 episodes, original in concept and much better.
I'm sure they'll be making a second season.
Just started watching The Inbetweeners. A UK show about 4 lads who are just getting into 6th form college. Its all about them trying to be cool, get girls, get served in pubs and get laid.
Its total toilet humor and its had me in stitches. I was laughing so hard yesterday watching season 1 that I actually puked up. Thats never happened to me before.

Is this series 1 Harry? Or when you say new, do you mean there's a series 2 out?Originally Posted by harrybarracuda

Warehouse 13 was a 1st season (finished just before Xmas I think) Sci Fi channel (or SyFy as its now known) series, same sort of SciFi/SFX/Humour as, say, Eureka.
If you like that sort of thing its enjoyable enough (I do).
"24" Season 8 just started.
Got 4 episodes to watch tonight![]()
Not sure if the channel 4 online thing works in Thailand?
Gordon Ramsey is in India trying and learning to cook some proper Indian food

Yeah, my wife wasn't too impressed either. I shouldn't have said that it reminded me of when I was at college.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

I'm DLing it from UK Nova.
I was hoping there was a new season.Good that you made me look it up. There's a new series, "Caprica":NEW YORK, NY — Syfy has ordered 13 episodes of its smash hit original series "Warehouse 13" for a second season, it was announced today by Mark Stern, Syfy's Executive Vice President, Original Content & Co-Head Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Warehouse 13 is slated for a summer 2010 return.
Caprica is a television series set in the fictional Battlestar Galactica universe. Beginning 58 years before the events seen in Battlestar Galactica, Caprica tells the story of how Colonial humanity first created the robotic Cylons, who would later plot to destroy human civilization in retaliation for their enslavement.
An extended version of the pilot premiered exclusively on DVD and digital download on April 21, 2009.[1] The first season, composed of the two-hour pilot and 19 more one-hour episodes, is expected to begin airing on Syfy in the United States on January 22, 2010.
"Caprica"
Hmmm.... not sure about this yet......
The 'prequel' series to Battlestar Galactica, set 58 years before the Cylon attacks.
Shows the creation of the cylons and fills in Adama and other family backgrounds. I think it may end up being a bit too Soap Operaish, but it's only 2 episodes in and it looks promising.
Spartacus.
I've only watched one episode so far, I've got one more, I think its quite new.
Its kind of a cross between HBO's Rome and the movie The 300. I loved both of those so thought I'd give this a shot.
It came highly recommended by 2 different friends. The acting is not as good as Rome and the cgi blood in the fight scenes goes a little over the top but there is plenty of action and loads of fucking so I'm gonna stick with it.
Here is the 1st episode.

You could say i'm a bit late with this, as no doubt some of you have heard of it before and have already seen it.
I dont know what made me think of it, but i thought of DL all of Battlestar Galactica 2003-2009. I had no idea there was 4 seasons and i didnt really know anything about it. I just hoped it was better than the 70's version and by the Gods.....its a frakkin' great show!!. The best sci-fi ever.
Took me 4 days to go through 75 episodes, and now i have discovered some webisodes that are floating about the net to DL, not to mention 2 TV movies and the prequel series called Caprica which is set 58 years before the events in the remake.
All this i have yet to see.
if your DVD player supports Divx or Xvid, and the movie is 700MB, use Nero and burn the file as data on a CD. It will load up in the player like it was MP3 files.
or if the movie is 1.5 gig, then add another movie of the same size, use Nero and select 'burn data dvd'. works the same way
if your player doesn't support Divx, Xvid, i would use ConvertXtoDVD by VSO. look for this on the net. There will be a working crack for it
VSO.Software.ConvertXtoDVD.4.v4.0.10.324-TE
it can convert and burn a movie in as little as 30 mins. much quicker than easier to use than Nero.
The Pacific.
About to begin on HBO. The most expensive mini-series ever made apparently.
I don't normally go for anything beyond factual documentaries. But DL'd the first 3 episodes from here:

Good show for an afternoon with the plasma, sound system and scotch. Like the 5 minute factual intro of interviews and real footage leading into each specific episode. Good production, as is expected from Steven Spielberg. Probably 60% of each episode is bloody battle.
3.5 Maos out of 5.
