Baby Reindeer is top fun indeed. I am only halfway in but it is quite nerve-wracking watching this guy's life fall apart at the hands of this full on bunnyboiler

I wouldn't describe it as fun. Perhaps you aren't far enough in.

It's caused a fair bit of controversy because they've essentially made it piss easy to identify the stalker, and although the identity of the predatory TV producer is well known in the trade, a producer who just happens to look like the character in the show has been named as the perpetrator.

They've both got journalists surrounding their houses and have been receiving death threats.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

The guy comes across as such a pathetic wimp, or is it simp these days, just tell the ugly fat fuk to piss off at the start problem solved. Sadly he let the twin pests of empathy and compassion lead him astray. It's a bit of a woke fest.

Well this crashed and burned in E02.

Twenty minutes of pointless slapstick and I checked out.

Sorry, but I didn't enjoy it.
It started out OK, but I eventually had enough of Clive Owen looking totally disinterested in every scene. It is now how I remembered Sam Spade. I thought if he can't be bothered to act in it then I can't be bothered to watch it.
I did see it through to the end.

Shame as I had high hopes.

I am having a similar reaction to 'Sugar' with Colin Farrell. It started out well imo, although I was somewhat unimpressed with their attempt at a homage to the old film noirs.
It is now episode 5 and my interest is beginning to wane as has their interest in the homage it would appear. I will keep with it to the end though.
I think Colin Farrell is fine in it

I have just finished watching Red Eye Series 1 with Richard Armitage. a relatively predictable conspiracy thriller involving the US, China & the UK. It moves along at a reasonable pace despite the fact that much of the 'action' takes place on a plane.
It is certainly watchable. I'd give it a 6.5

^ I have just watched episode 6 of Sugar and I can say it has now lost me completely.
I will not be watching a second series should there be one

New Life (Movie, 2024) I've been waiting for this since it got excellent reviews on release.

I thought it was going to be good but FUCK.

    Really excellent thriller.

I thought the lead's performance was quite emotionally gripping overall. I did not find out until after the last episode tonight that the lead actor is actually the guy in real life on which the mostly true story, according to him, is based, and that he wrote and developed it all himself. He is 35 now but he was in his 20s when it went down.

I could pin that label on 93.76% of TV these days but I did not particularly see it here.

I had not watched episode 4 when I wrote that.

A Man in Full (TV, 2024)

Jeff Bridges plays a beleaguered real estate tycoon facing bankruptcy.

Quite the cast, and Bill Camp finally gets a part worthy of his skills.

    First episode not bad.

^ I watched it all the way through the six episodes. Holds up to the end. I enjoyed it.

BTW, that’s not Jeff Bridges. It’s Jeff Daniels.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a harrowing good series, probably not for the gullible free Palestine morons though. One of the few areas they cannot shoe horn a few black actors into

There's another "harrowing holocaust tale" that just came out as well.

Probably the Hollywood blue suede shoes trying a bit of genocide-washing.

    Godzilla Minus One (Movie, 2023)

This isn't a Hollywood movie, but a good old Japanese one, set just after WWII, with original-style hammy acting, only the special effects are state of the art.

If you enjoyed kicking the cinema seats on a Saturday morning, you'll enjoy this.

I just can't see how Auschwitz works as a background to anything.

    Not virtue signalling - honest.

The whole series was set in Auschwitz, apart from a few minutes of how he was sent there and flashbacks when he was being interviewed for the book. Of course some will alway quibble about the numbers of murders committed there, over a million Jews alone.
