Anyone else think that Battlestar Galactica has jumped the shark big time.
Colenel Tai as a cylon??
what a load of poo.
^I'm still watching, but I'm unimpressed with the season thus far. I really hope it gets better. I'm going to be very pissed off if they wait until the final episode to find earth and reveal the last cylon.
finally finished watching all 7 series of Trailer Park Boys, (recommended months ago on this thread)

Thanks whoever it was! greens on the way!

Baseball (1994)
"In our sun-down preambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we
have observed several parties of youngsters playing base, a certain game of ball....Let us go forth awhile and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our closed rooms....The game of ball is glorious."
-Walt Whitman
2000 years from now, when people study American civilization, the country will be known for 3 great things: The Constitution, Jazz Music, and Baseball. The latter is the subject of Ken Burns' mammoth 9-part documentary that aired back in 1994. It traces the sport from its inception in the 19th century (and possibly even earlier) to its current money-hungry state. Highlights include the Black Sox scandal, the blatant racism that forced black players to form negro leagues, and the triumph and ruin of the New York Yankees. Ty Cobb was one of the greatest players the game has ever known, but he was a complete asshole and had no friends. He once beat the shit out of a fan for heckling him while he was at bat. Babe Ruth, the greatest of them all, was so revered because of his talent, as well as his love of the fans. Pete Rose holds the record for the most hits, and is not in the hall of fame.
This is a fantastic documentary. With 9 parts, it took me weeks to watch them all, and yet I did not want it to end. Interviews included are Mickey Mantle, Curt Flood, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Willie Mays, Buck O'Neil, and Ted Williams among others (I guess Bill Buckner wasn't available). Fascinating stuff.
^
would somebody that thinks baseball is the most boring sport ever shoved on us enjoy it?
^Dunno. Maybe. I haven't watched baseball in years, just got bored with it. But I still enjoyed it.
Got it off isohunt.
Thanks Durianfan I will give it a whirl.
I have the same apathy towards basketball, american sports seem to be like that.
I thought that was a Canadian sport?Quote:
