or All Souls

I went with “Poor Things”. Should have titled it “Bellastein learns she has a twat”
Real strange!
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Leave The World Behind is so appallingly bad it could almost be French. Absolute rubbish, inexplicably implausible, incoherent and laughably contrived to a degree one can only assume the producers, script writers and director were all on acid.
This is possible the worst ever movie I have watched in my life!!!
A Scouse gangster movie called Shooters.
It's on Netflix..
https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/815...&clip=81575136
The abrasive accents, the stereotypical story line. Its got the lot.
Seriously, you have to watch it to see how awful it is!!!
On the plus side its only an hour long.
Shalom
I've never been that fond of modern movies and still enjoy a lot of the "golden oldies", many of which are free to download or watch on Youtube.
It's the dialog, the black and white, and that feeling of childhood when we went to the Saturday matinees while mum&dad did the weekly shopping.
I used to dislike James Stewart's accent (Pennsylvania?) but I've got accustomed to it over the years and, sick in bed over the weekend, enjoyed a couple of his films.
Call Northside 777 (1948): Based on a true story of a man wrongly convicted of cop killing in Chicago, Reporter Pj McNeal (James Stewart) is assigned to look into the case after the convicts mother puts an ad in the Chicago Times for information on the true killers. It doesn't have much of a story line, as in you can work out the ending pretty much at the start of the film, but I found it enjoyable all the same.
No Highway in the Sky (1951) James Stewart plays an eccentric aerospace engineer who has predicted the failure of an airliner tail due to metal fatigue, only to find himself on said airliner close to the calculated hours. Worse, he's on his way to investigate the crash of one of the aircraft with roughly the same number of hours. Again, no major action and ending is obvious, but something very comfortable about the dialog and actions that are missing from today's films.
I still enjoy watching these old movies, the cars, the clothes, the dialog, so much missing in today's society.
^ Oddly, the thing that I noticed the most about ‘Leave the World Behind’ was that Kevin Bacon has had a nose job. His nose used to be bulbous, now small.
All those Teslas getting smashed up must of broke Snubbles heart.
I enjoyed the movie. Thought it well acted. It was slow.
You need to get out more.
I watched maybe a quarter of it before I gave up.
Reminds me of Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. I admit I boutht the video after all the hype.
Completely aimless, without direction, without any clue on purpose.
I wondered if it was just me who thought 'Everything, everywhere...' was pants.![]()
I didn’t like ‘Everything, Everywhere’ at all. I couldn’t figure out what was going on until 3/4ths of the movie was over. It moved so fast everything was a blur.
Last thins I saw was "Napoleon" and I thought it silly.
