Watched "The Shawshank Redemption" last night. Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. I won't do a review, as I presume most of our viewing audience has seen it; suffice it to say one of the great prison movies. 10/10.

This is one of three screenplays he's written from Stephen King novellas.

He asked King's permission to change the ending of "The Mist", and even King thought he was warped, which is saying something. Put that on your late night list next, the missus may cower behind the sofa (well I don't know, maybe even you will <heh>).

And I can only assume you've seen "The Green Mile" as well. I just loved the whole feel of that movie from beginning to end.

It's a shame they kicked Darabont off "The Walking Dead", the drop in quality is quite palpable.

Low budget flick about a girl kidnapped by two men and held for ransom.
Good acting, with some good twists, keeps the tension going throughout.
Worth watching. 7/10

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

Watched this again last night, if you haven't watched it yet you really should.
One of the funniest films in a long time, it's a spoof horror/gore film, and very well made. The film parodies the genre superbly, with a clever twist on the usual teen/hillbilly murder orgy, the gore is better for being understated, giving the comedy, which is full of slapstick and stereotypes, center stage.

Watched Mean Streets last night. Scorcese 1973 with very young Bobby Deniro and Harvey Keitel. Hadn't watched this in years and had forgotten how silly we all looked back then. A good movie which virtually kicked off a new generation of movies and moviemakers.

Dawn of the Dead is very dated now. Shaun of the Dead is very funny.

I finally got around to watching The War Horse directed by Steven Spielberg. It's a beautiful film with a nostalgic look and feel. I loved some of the shots even though they were obviously homages to iconic film directors such as Victor Fleming and John Ford. 8/10

'Avengers' because my missus wanted to watch it. As far as action movies go it was pretty entertaining. Although the storyline wasn't dissimilar to the latest Transformers movie, i was pleasantly surprised. First movie i've watched in 3D too. Can't say i'm keen on the experience!

Just watched a really strange one. "This Must Be The Place". Sean Penn as an aging rock star in search of the Nazi guard who tormented his father in one of the camps. The movie was so-so, but Penn's portrayal of an aging rock star was superb. Movie 6/10. Penn: 10/10.

The last film I watched was in black and white " George Formby at the TT races " it was at Saturday morning pics many decades ago ,, I got me ABC minors badge , it was illuminous in the dark , we waited for the boys to come out the hi/so Odeon club and we beat em up .

Was bored stiff last night browsing youtube and stumbled on a clip of this movie and downloaded it.

It isn't fantastic, but i've seen worse at the cinema (Mission Impossible). Overall i thought it was a pretty good fighting movie. Bloodsport type.




The actor in it then reminded of 'SPAWN' so i downloaded that too.
