had a chinese purchasing nob on a job in china tell me that the part I had shown him was not made in china - to which I told him that everything was made in china and to get on with his job

Waste of time. Go with the brands which have earned your trust. If necessary pay the premium for quality. Of course if you are cheap like me I don't always follow my own advice

The underground thrusters & cable guys - I prefer above terra firma actually but each to their own
The dirt boys - they shift dirt about the place but I'm sure they do more than that.
The stock trucks man - enabling a one way trip to the abattoir
Mr Whippy (or derivatives thereof)
A heavy vehicle mechanic
A car mechanic
A paint stripper
A fire wood yard
Until recently a furniture removalist
A bar owned by heavy dudes with outlaw motorcycle connections
The dispute about the power is between the landlord and the bar.
