Had a look at a few reviews before I bought the latest model. https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/27/apple-tv-4k-review/

At the moment I'm downloading 'Chasing Coral' which is an excellent documentary that I've watched before in 1080p, so looking forward to the 4K version.

    How about this baby?

    Buying a new TV-c-seed-262-jpg

    the C-Seed 262 come with...errr... 262 inches

It's truly massive in every way. 10 integrated speakers, 9.1 cinema sound, motorised fabric cover for when you cant be bothered to watch it. the screen is 19 FEET WIDE!, complete with a built in 4K server. No chance of stealing it as it weighs a tonne!! (well 780kg)

Yours for just $539,000 and an additional $38,500 for the 'project management package'' ...whatever that is

Probably be available down at Panthip at a discount

You can even top that though...

A UK company will make you a 370 inch panel. The Zeus, from Titan Screens, will set you back $1m , if the C-Seed feels 'understated'

    Happy Shopping.....!!

Going to get the point where you have to give the TV specs to the architect so he can build your house around it.

Looked for the first time in ages while passing through Big C.

21k baht for a 65 inch LG UHD nowadays.

    Amazingly cheap.

Still not much point in buying it though as there's still fok all UHD content to watch.

Torrents are still by and large 1080p.
Same for most if not nearly all youtube.
Netflix, don't think that's UHD though could be wrong.

Which I hopefully am so I have an excuse to upgrade the 55inch FHD.

^Was just thinking the same recently whilst out shopping. Very cheap for the huge screen smart tv's nowadays. Not sure what the build quality / lifetime is like, though.

Anybody actually primarily watching UHD content?

Sports on HDPrime, movies and series downloaded by torrents, Netflix and youtube for docos etc, all still seem to be primarily FHD.

^ Nope not me...torrents and Netflix all regular FHD.

I think TV innovation has outstripped the video market.

Which I suppose is okay. Probably gonna be down to 10-15k baht by the time UHD actually becomes mainstream.

I seriously question how high a resolution is needed in a home tv. For me, the FHD is enough.

Netflix has 4K available at least here in the states. But you have to pay extra for the service and it sucks up massive amounts of bandwidth.

Do you have it? If so, how does it compare to FHD?

I struggle to tell the difference between 720p - 1080p so all this ultra-high resolution stuff is wasted on me.

Might mean I need to spend another 50k on glasses though.

No I don't because I have a shitty ISP that caps my bandwidth to 1.2 TB a month I have a hard time staying under that as it is if I went 4k I would blow through that in a week easily and I am not paying my ISP another $50 for unlimited bandwidth. Another reason to show that idiot Trump the middle finger by allowing these ISP's to monopolize entire markets. So much for a supposed "free market economy".

Lots of choice as all the major outlets have decent looking TVs for less than 10k. Suggestions invited on one for a rental place, no need for bells and whistles but should be cheap, around 50" and odds on to work.

I've considered projectors in the past but always declined because you need close to ideal conditions to get the most out of them -- or at least did on the technology as it was at the time, which wasn't that long ago.

Looks like these new fangled ones are way better than back in the day in the pub, though.

Those days when we'd watch Man U actually win.

Yep this is true though my 'TV room' is a bit too small for a massive projection area and until they have one that can deal with outdoors weather / light conditions it's out for the bar also.

Hope that's soon mind, a massive ruddy great screen out there would be brilliant and really annoy the neighbors (and taxexile )!

The short throw projector can project a 100-inch screen within a distance of 1.5 meters.
This would work for the spare bedroom that I plan to turn into a tv room.

800 pounds for 1280 resolution with USB type a and B and no C. Composite fuckin video leads, vga sockets. How fuckin old is that thing?
S- video too. I bet its got scart sockets too.

It's not available on Amazon and with a bulb that'll probably die in a year and is probably discontinued.

Lulu's 65 inch UHD smart TV with no drilling seems a much smarter option.

I was, and kinda still am, too.

Was in the place that I'd want it set up a day or two ago, and in the daytime it's a really really bright room from natural sunlight.

The TV there now wasn't a bother, but imagined what it would be like projected onto the white wall behind it, and couldn't imagine a projector being anyway close to as good as the TV in a bright daytime sunlit room.

Obviously in the nighttime with a movie it comes into its own, but fark, in the daytime I might send Dill a green by mistake and not even realize it.

You could buy some black out curtains. All those projectors suffer from wash out though. Why don't any decent manufacturers make them either?

There's one on Cyrille's link that has a 3 hour battery life. Could take it down Armstrongs caravan park and charge the Thais. They love that shit.

It is though made by Asus

Well yeah, but I mainly use my TV's as computers. Got a PC connected to each one.

Not gonna black out a place during the day, and don't fancy accidentally logging in as Snakeeyes or pressing the wrong button on the Admin User CP panel due to nice sunshine.
