    I do, as many others.

Just can't be arsed to make the effort every time.

    2. While steak is resting on a plate, warm through the mushrooms.

    3. Add mushrooms to steak on the plate then add the potatoes.

Nev's quick and easy steak, mushrooms and taters. Ten minutes from pack to plate.
Personally, I would have drained the mushies, heated them by way of saute, added a dash of soy sauce then lightly floured and gravied them, but it all looks great.

Imagine, for a moment, this ...

Sitting at Home, enjoying your morning coffee.
Your lovely lady was been bashing and mixing away in the Kitchen, but it's just noise.

The noise stops, your Lassie takes away your empty coffee cup and asks ... 'another one Honey'?

You hear the kettle switched on (we're not Lulu's here and don't drink espressos), but still, a pleasant brew.

You're flicking through the Teak Door.

Has Father Ray's kids been fed?
Has Ant and Stroller kicked off WWIII?
Has MissKit done a minimum 10 News Stories?
Has CCC posted another Travel Log?
    Has ... ?

OH, has Luigi posted in the Kitchen thread?

Speaking of kitchens, while you are sitting there as the second cuppa arrives.
Maybe a minute or two later, your nostrils flare,
you squint, focus, just for a second ... you sample the room's aromas again and it hits you.

    YOU BREATH DEEP

Oh, Mother of our Sweet Lord, your Lassie's been baking biscuits/cookies again ... your favourite.

    Cashew shortbreads
    .

You look down at the coffee, it seems lonely. Needs a companion, or two.

Suddenly you feel a bit peckish, swivel in the chair and politely inquire ...

Hon, have you just made a batch of biscuits?

Sure, was the reply, would you like one ... a slight delay ... or two?

You know what's on offer ... and you were hoping more for the question ... three or four biscuits!
But, it's been a while since you've been to the gym, your kids, less then politely poke your slightly spreading stomach,
and settle on the answer ... two please.

They arrive on a white plate. Simple as fuck ... tasty as.

You lick your lips in anticipation ... your taste buds know what's coming.

    Pop one in ... bite

Warm in your mouth, ... great.

Is it 'short' but not dry? YES

Is it crumby but not crumbling? YES

The taste, slightly sweet, slightly (ever so slightly) salty and that unmistaken taste of cashews ... a resounding YES.

Yes, Yes, Yes ... another winner.

Thanks Hun .. they're great ... as usual!

Now, this isn't in the Kitchen thread because I didn't bake them, but I wanted to share.

    Dinner-p9062681-medium-2-jpg

The biscuits are made from a fairly standard Shortbread mix with a hefty infusion of cashews ... that's the expensive bit.

    Dinner-p9062685-medium-2-jpg

Out of the oven, obviously they have been glazed ... seriously, delish!

    Dinner-p9062686-medium-jpg

Sadly, we don't have a Hello Kitty, fan forced oven and, despite a tray rotation (4 trays, two levels), a slight difference in biscuit thickness isn't good
and a few rejects we get.

    Dinner-p9062692-medium-2-jpg

I got two of them with my coffee.

My partner sells them, gives them away as gifts ... and I sneak a few also.

    DELISH

Of course not. I work on the weekends with a fellow that is an amazing home chef and he does pies.

I wanted to try one to give them a whirl, it was pretty good. I've got chicken and mushroom on order, if they turn out well, I'll get him to knock out a sampler pack to send ya. Mince and onion, steak and kidney, chicken and mushroom are what he's making.
