Man. IHOP, Taco Bell, Dennys. They were staples going to college and living on my own in LA. Dennys was always cheap and like Snubs I had people I knew that cooked at them as night jobs while they also went to college. Hook ups were always in order. Taco Bell was definitely drunk and stoned food. Sunday's was 6pack Sunday. 6 tacos for basically 40 cents each. IHOP was usually the buddy get together on the Big Stack sale. One more was Togo's sandwich shop.
Man those were the days and I wouldn't have survived without those cheap eateries
You know my opinion on the availability of good food in the US. I've made that point many times and my relatives eat very well .
It's wonderful - just like the UK.
That doesn't change my opinion that a number of posters from western countries eat poorly. US, UK, AUS etc..
As you identified in a previous post- and you were bang on.
Hey AO, what about a breakfast burrito?
They also keep the costs down, JP.
When I'm holiday I'm a millionaire, but why not stop at a Denny's or a deli for breakfast? It's not like Denny's is bad, is it?
Plus it's food in your belly for, what, $40 max between two?
It's later in the night that I am less discerning...
^ I have only had a few. Personally prefer a breakfast with eggs, home fries, an English muffin and my meat of choice. Funky breakfast joints are a good thing with me and the wife agrees. I do like Huevos Rancheros the Mexican breakfast and do have that as well. Great one in Santa Fe last trip.
It's a needs must basis for us, AO.
My missus is Malaysian so we stayed with her family for a couple of nights in NY and ate well. I'm not loaded and didn't have the benefit of family in NY apart from the last couple of nights when we did it Chinese style near Coney Island with my wife's family.
Even my dad, who is loaded, baulks at US prices for food so breakfast is a time to save.
Well, no, they're not. A chimichanga is fried, a burrito isn't.
There appears to be absolutely no topic at all that you don't have zero knowledge about.
Actually, it shouldn't come as any surprise that you think a burrito is fried.
^ chimichanga. It even fookin' says it. A burrito isn't fried.
Must be something in the water.
That Danillo lad used to have frozen packs of 4 chimichangas, burritos and a few others for sale in Tops years ago.
Probably been replaced with plant based vegan burger patties by now.
