Dirk is from Scotland though. It's a wonder he hasn't taken to deep frying the rice before adding it to the soup.

I have to confess to considering straws with soup on the odd occasion, but i don't think anyone picked up on the sly look on my face whilst staring at the bowl.

Totally acceptable, but never the other way around onto a rice plate.

Soups are different. Ladle into the stingy portion wee bowl and continue until all the meat, spring/onion, mushrooms and any other edible bits are finished then introduce rice to the broth.

Deep fried rice is nothing new.

I've done that on the few few occasions I have a straw. The kids find it hilarious and the Mrs pulls that face like she's trying to get my attention for something without being obvious.

Next you'll be telling us that pineapple on (deep fried) pizza is ok.

A tar and feathering for you.

May I suggest that Snickers are just bigger Mars Bars with added peanuts?

If you have a Marathon kicking about, it's gonna need deep fried a lot.

    That looks pretty good actually.

If you deliver to Penang at Christmas, can you ensure it won't melt?

It's a class act and the presentation cost nothing.

You can't polish a turd, but you can eat shitloads of whole grain mustard the night before.

Make your own mate. Chocolate bar from the fridge to batter to fryer.

Toffee crisps tend to fall apart, Malteasers, don't go there, Boosts are good and it brings a whole new meaning to 'how do you eat yours?' for Creme Eggs.

    Ferrero Rochers were shite.

No, I prefer the rice to soak all the curry juices up, afterall rice is a bit bland and boring on it's own.

If you don't know, now you do know and there is no excuse to live the rest of your lives without 'Todd'!

    Good shout, Bonecollector.

Although I've never tried TODD, when it comes to condiments, the Thais have got this market cornered. Nobody does dipping sauces or spicy sauces quite as well. And the spicy really is fucking spicy. There's no competition.

Nua/Moo de deaw, which I've actually only seen Lu occasionally reference on here, with a couple of Thai sauces on the side is some of the best beer food known to man. Kor moo yang is another.

    Cracking stuff.

    I don't own a diner. And I'm sure Bonecollector doesn't either.

Have you ever had Todd's splatter? Is there something you want to tell us?

I have to take a detour back to my hotel now cos I don't want Tony to see me. Who wants pizza when you can get this from the Palestinian place.

I didn't even ask for the chips... they were a freebie.

That's tomorrow night sorted as well... freeing up my per diem for alcohol.
