    Chili looks good!

That Quiché looks fantastic! You should have done a step-by-step tutorial on how to make it. I would settle for peas, but it goes back to the chef with beans.

^ Wow thanks Snubs... I've never been called a chef before.

I'm sure I did a tutorial a couple of years ago but can't seem to find it now.

Anyway... first I fry up some chopped bacon and onions in olive oil with salt and pepper, then once done, put aside.

Next I add a lot of eggs (whisked) and grated cheese to a bowl with milk and seasoning and stir it all together. I mix the cheap Makro cheese with some good strong English cheddar.

Then I make up some shortcrust pastry, roll it out and stick in a greased baking tin to blind bake for 10 minutes or so. While blind baking I fold the bacon/onions with the rest of the mix and blanch and skin a couple of tomatoes.

The filling is ladled into the pastry case and slices of tomatoes added gently to rest on the top of the mix. A bit more grated cheese across the top can make a nice cheesy crust.

Then bake until the mixture firms up... maybe 20 or 30 minutes. My latest batch came out a bit sloppy in the middle but then you can just call it a cheese and bacon pie.

That doesn't sound too difficult! I may give it a shot at some point.

I was thinking that maybe everybody knocked up and brought a dish or 2, and HL bought the BBQ fish on the way over.

Snubby and Willy will be all over this one, fo shu, but you did open the can of beans, so how different is that compared to, say, shelling a pea?

Likewise with the mash (opening the bag = peeling the spuds).

    Farm (Foods) fresh.

Incorrect. Two of the bowls do actually match. Front row, the bowl with the green stuff matches to the one above and to the left of the green veggie plate.

^ Very well spotted Nid, I missed that.

    But 'Green stuff'!!?

You are besmirching the finest Isaan food here.

Although I must admit that I'm not exactly sure of the correct name for that dish.

Is that not how the noble savages in the real Thailand eat their food?

    Cheesy Beanz all the way.

Speaking of cheezy beanz... the cheezy beanz queen is back on the scene.

Miss Mindanao returned from the wilderness tonight after more than a year. The legend lady who broke my drought in 2019 after my KGBGF heart-wrenching break-up. And it is all thanks to Katie, who prompted me to send her a Christmas Eve missive of good tidings and best wishes, which got us texting again - thank you Katie

    Dinner-img_20220202_215045-jpg

I did not make her eat cheezy beanz on her prodigal return but instead cooked an Indian curry. She likes when I put on an Indian accent while I am cooking Indian curry

    Dinner-img_20220203_000526c-jpg

I thought she would be straight into the exotic fruit being a tropical jungle native but when I mentioned the oxalic acid and tiny sharp crystals in the Monstera (as a point of curiosity) she decided that a photograph would suffice
